Iron Flags: David Wilson Is Back ... So What? rotoviz.com Fri 7/25/14 6:38 PM

Should You Draft Him?: NFC East QBs and RBs fantasysharks.com Tue 7/22/14 9:06 AM

In some ways, this is going to feel like a rerun of the NFC North. Mediocre division? Check. Offensive skill players bursting with talent? Check. All four teams in the bottom half of the league in scoring defense? That's a check. Fantasy points are going to get scored! As always, we start with the quarterbacks and running backs. (ADP, or average draft position, is based on current data from 12-team standard drafts) New York Giants Eli Manning (ADP: Round 13): In 2011, Manning was the sixth-highest scoring fantasy quarterback. In 2012, he fell to 16th. Last year, he was 21st, behind Geno Smith and Joe Flacco . On the plus side, his freefall in the rankings can't get much worse. I mean, there are only 32 starting quarterback jobs in the NFL. With a new offensive coordinator, I don't think he's going to be the 17-touchdown, 27-interception disaster he was last year, but I still don't think he'll be anything close to a starting option. A bye week or injury fill-in quarterback can be had for a song, and other late-round guys like Andy Dalton and Johnny Manziel present far greater upside. Should You Draft Him: No. Rashad Jennings (ADP: Mid-Round 4): At first glance I thought this was too early for him, but then I looked at the running backs going after. It ain't pretty. The contract and coach-speak certainly make it appear that the Giants have every intention of making Jennings their workhorse back. He showed more last season in relief of Darren McFadden than David Wilson has in his first two seasons. The more physically talented Wilson may push Jennings for carries late in the season as he works himself back into shape from neck surgery, but I have this weird premonition that Wilson will put the ball on the ground the first chance he gets, because so far in his career that's kind of been his thing. Going as a low-end RB2, I think the value here is about right. Should You Draft Him: Yes. David Wilson (ADP: Round 12): I was discussing Wilson with a friend of mine. My friend has Wilson pegged as one of his top sleepers, because that much talent just can't stay hidden. Well, Wilson has done a good job of it for two years. Whether he's worth a flier depends on his status heading into training camp. Wilson has been cleared for full participation in training camp, and as such, he warrants a 12th-round pick just by pure virtue of his physical talent, but until I see him in action, I'll pass. Should You Draft Him: No. Washington ...
