The Bears plan to terminate Rosario's contract, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
With that, it looks like the Bears plan to roll with the likes of Zach Miller, Khari Lee and Bear Pascoe as reserve tight ends behind starter Martellus Bennett.

Rosario re-signed with the Bears on a one-year contract, ESPN's Jeff Dickerson reports. Rosario caught 16-of-22 targets for 116 yards and no touchdowns in 2014, working as the No. 2 tight end behind Martellus Bennett. Rosario will likely face competition to keep the same role, as Zach Miller (foot) is expected to return from an injury that cost him his entire 2014 campaign.

Rosario reeled in 16 of 22 targets for 116 yards and no touchdowns during the 2014 season. Rosario was active for all 16 games and logged a reception in all but three contests, but with Martellus Bennett entrenched as the starter, there wasn't much of an opportunity for him to take on a featured role in the passing game. He'll become a free agent this summer, but none of the 32 teams probably envision him as much more than an experienced depth option at tight end at this point in his career.

Rosario reeled in one of his two targets for four yards in Monday's loss to the Saints. Despite being active all season, Rosario has caught more than one pass in just two games and has never seen more than 30 snaps in any week. His limited involvement offensively isn't likely to change over the Bears' final two games.

Rosario has been held without a reception in each of the Bears' last two games. Rosario typically hadn't been targeted more than one or two times per game for most of the season, so it's not particularly surprising that he's been held out off the scoresheet the last couple weeks. He only has 12 receptions for 86 yards and no touchdowns in 13 games this season.

Rosario reeled in one pass for three yards in Sunday's 55-14 loss to the Packers. Martellus Bennett (ribs) ended up suiting up Sunday after entering the game with a questionable tag, negating any chance Rosario had of seeing a sharp increase in snaps. He'll remain relegated primary to blocking when he enters games, mostly in two tight end scenarios.

Rosario caught one pass for six yards and was also on the receiving end of a successful two-point conversion attempt in Sunday's loss to the Patriots. The two-pointer marked the first time Rosario found the end zone in any capacity this season, but he'll continue to struggle to attain fantasy relevance while Martellus Bennett dominates the tight end snaps for the Bears.

Rosario nabbed two passes for 15 yards in Sunday's loss to the Dolphins, but fumbled the ball away after one of his catches. It's not often that Rosario's production exceeds that of Alshon Jeffery (two catches, nine yards), but that's exactly what happened Sunday. That probably is more of an indictment of the Bears' offense than an endorsement of Rosario, who brings his greatest utility as a blocker.

Rosario didn't log a target in Sunday's win over the Falcons. Rosario's three-catch, 20-yard performance in Week 5 will probably go down as the high point in his season, as the few snaps he does receive often come on running plays. He's no threat to cut into starting tight end Martellus Bennett's workload.

Rosario caught a season-high three passes for 20 yards in Sunday's loss to the Panthers. Surprisingly, Rosario saw only one fewer target on the afternoon than both Brandon Marshall and Martellus Bennett, but that may have been a byproduct of the heavy pressure quarterback Jay Cutler faced all afternoon against the Panthers' front four. Rosario represents little more than a safety valve in the passing game, and probably won't emerge as anything more than a third or fourth receiving option when he happens to be on the field.
