Woodhead (knee) has progressed to performing squats and running , Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reports.
EDGE Analysis
Just two and a half months removed from tearing the ACL in his right knee, Woodhead has yet to see the light at the end of the tunnel in his rehab. Rather, Monday's development is a stepping stone toward potentially participating in the offseason program. A more realistic timetable is likely a return for training camp, but ultimately his recovery will be monitored with a watchful eye.

The Chargers announced Monday that Danny Woodhead suffered a torn ACL in his right knee and will miss the rest of the season, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
There was hope that Woodhead had suffered a mere MCL sprain, which would have allowed him to return at some point this season. However, further testing revealed the precise diagnosis and its season-ending nature. Losing their second premier receiver in as many weeks, Philip Rivers will likely trust even more in Antonio Gates, Travis Benjamin, and Tyrell Williams in the passing attack.

Woodhead is slated for additional tests on his right knee Monday, at which point the Chargers will clarify the running back's status.
EDGE Analysis
Once the Chargers' medical staff does its due diligence, an accompanying prognosis should be clarified. At the moment, the team hopes that Woodhead merely suffered a sprained MCL, according to Alex Marvez of Sports Illustrated, which would likely ensure a return at some point this season.

Woodhead (right knee) has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Jaguars.
EDGE Analysis
After he was tackled in awkward fashion at the conclusion of a reception in the first quarter, Woodhead was unable to walk off the field under his own power and promptly took a cart to the locker room. An official diagnosis has yet to emerge, but the Chargers will seemingly lose another top pass-catcher for an extended period.

Woodhead is questionable to return to Sunday's contest against the Jaguars due to a right knee injury, Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
The hits keep coming in San Diego. Already down two wide receivers in Keenan Allen and Stevie Johnson with serious knee injuries, the Chargers may be without their top pass-catcher out of the backfield. Upon an awkward tackle in the first quarter, Woodhead required assistance from the training staff to walk off the field and was carted to the locker room. Although the severity of the injury will be known in due time, the running back corps has been whittled down to three active bodies in Melvin Gordon, Kenneth Farrow, and Derek Watt.

Woodhead rushed for 89 yards on 16 carries and added five catches for 31 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's loss to Kansas City.
EDGE Analysis
The 89 yards rushing were the most by a Charger since Donald Brown's 90 yards in Week 7 of last season. While his exploits as a runner might be his strong suit of his Week 1, his receiving ability will likely be his primary contribution to the team in the remaining 15 games. Woodhead's 80 receptions led the team last season as they spent half the year without star receiver Keenan Allen. With Allen potentially gone for the remainder of 2016, expect Woodhead to be a top candidate to lead the team in receptions again.

Woodhead finished Sunday's preseason loss to the Vikings with three carries for zero yards, and one catch for 25 yards.
EDGE Analysis
Woodhead was used sparingly throughout the first half as the first-string Chargers offense played into the second quarter. While the 32-year-old didn't make much noise on the ground, his 25 yard catch-and-run was the longest catch by any Charger. With Branden Oliver (Achilles) likely done for an extended period of time, look for Woodhead to see even more time in the backfield during the regular season.

Woodhead played sparingly in the Chargers preseason win over the Cardinals, recording three carries for five yards.
EDGE Analysis
Nobody was able to run the ball effectively, as the Chargers managed just 46 total rushing yards on 27 carries in the contest. While Melvin Gordon appears to be the lead back heading into his second season, Woodhead will likely still factor in heavily on offense, particularly during passing situations.

Woodhead played sparingly in the Chargers opening preseason contest against the Titans, recording just one carry for nine yards on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The 32-year-old veteran was not expected to play much in the Chargers' first preseason game of the season, instead ceding the majority of first-team the snaps to Melvin Gordon and Branden Oliver. Rest assured Woodhead still figures to be a factor on offense, particularly in the pass catching department, as the diminutive running back has recorded at least 70 catches in two of the last three seasons.

Woodhead is fully healthy ahead of the start of training camp Saturday, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Woodhead sprained his ankle at the end of San Diego's minicamp this spring, but the time off has fortunately allowed him to make a full recovery. With teammate Melvin Gordon (knee) coming off microfracture surgery, Woodhead should be plenty involved out of the backfield early on, and is coming off a season in which he led the Chargers in catches (80), receiving yards (755) and receiving touchdowns (six). With numbers like those, the veteran continues to stand out in PPR leagues, so his return to health is encouraging for the Chargers and fantasy owners alike.
