The Lions have expressed interest in re-signing free agent DT Corey Williams. Williams had knee surgery last season, so the Lions want to make sure he's healthy before potentially bringing him back on a one-year deal. He made just five starts in 2012. If signed, Williams will return as defensive tackle depth.

Free agent DT Corey Williams left his visit in Oakland without a deal. It remains unclear why the Raiders continue to bring in older, declining free agents. After blowing up their roster, the time to rebuild through youth is now. Williams is entering his age-33 season and well into his decline phase.

Free agent DT Corey Williams visited the Raiders. Williams is wearing down quickly as he enters his age-33 season and has garnered no other known interest. In other words, he's a perfect fit for the bumbling Raiders. A knee injury and the emergence of Nick Fairley conspired to limit Williams to just nine tackles and two sacks a year ago.

ESPN.com expects the Lions to "move on" from free agent DT Corey Williams. The 32-year-old defensive tackle was limited to just seven games by a knee injury in 2012, and was made expendable by the emergence of 2011 first-rounder Nick Fairley. Williams was a 15-game starter as recently as 2011, but could have trouble finding guaranteed money on the open market. Just six of his 27.5 career sacks have come since 2009.

Lions placed DT Corey Williams (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season. Williams has missed six games since undergoing what was billed at the time as minor knee surgery. He finishes a disappointing contract season with nine tackles, two sacks, and a forced fumble. Although the 32-year-old Williams is highly regarded by the coaching staff and teammates, his Detroit future is up in the air following the emergence of 2011 first-rounder Nick Fairley.

Lions declared DT Corey Williams, QB Kellen Moore, DE Ronnell Lewis, S Louis Delmas, OT Corey Hilliard, OT John Fox, and WR Brian Robiskie inactive for Week 11 versus the Packers. Nick Fairley has been playing at a high level as Williams' replacement. Ricardo Silva and Erik Coleman are filling in at safety for Delmas and Amari Spievey. Veteran CB Drayton Florence (forearm) is active for the first time this season.

Lions DR Corey Williams (knee) did not practice on Saturday. Williams has missed the Lions' last two games after opening the season as a starter. He practiced on Thursday and Friday, but his absence on Saturday doesn't bode well for his Week 7 status against the the Bears on Monday night. If Williams sits, the Lions will again split snaps between Nick Fairley and Sammie Lee Hill.

Lions DT Corey Williams (knee) is not expected to play in Sunday's game against the Eagles. Williams missed Week 4, took the bye week off and is now out for Week 6. But if he truly had a mere scope, he should be back shortly. Sammie Lee Hill and Nick Fairley will continue to full in.

Lions DT Corey Williams has been declared out for Week 4 after undergoing knee surgery on Tuesday. The timetable given by the team is "week-to-week," which suggests a minor knee scope. Williams has played 125-of-182 snaps as a starter on a defensive which has been stingy to opposing fantasy backs. Look for Sammie Lee Hill and Nick Fairley to split snaps in his place.

Lions DT Corey Williams is facing a DWI charge stemming from an arrest last year. The arrest was never reported by the media, so this incident just now became news for a Lions organization that certainly didn't need it after seven separate offseason arrests. Williams appeared in court on Wednesday. His attorney is arguing that Williams was "racially profiled." The judge said the case is "under advisement" and will be ruled upon within the week.
