Recently, Barwin said, "The Eagles know thats where I want to be. Me and Howie [Roseman- Eagles General Manager] are talking. I might wait a week into camp, but thats about as far as Im going to wait." Barwin had 12 tackles and one sack as a situational pass rusher for the Giants last season and would be filling a similar role in 2019.

53 Deep - Week 11 fantasysharks.com Fri 11/14/14 9:06 AM

Winter is coming. OK, maybe I'm being overly dramatic (or blatantly stealing afamous tag line) due to the bitter cold and first snow here in Michigan. Let mebegin again. The fantasy football playoffs are coming. That's actually just as dramatic an opening for IDP ownersas the original. Regular season games are dwindling down and it is make it orbreak it time for a lot of teams. Finding the sleeper candidates to step in and help lead ateam to a late season victory can be vital to getting into the chase for thechampionship. Here at 53 Deep we take this task very seriously and havecombed over the matchups to deliver the players that we believe have the chanceto step up this week. Without further ado... DEFENSIVE LINEMEN Jason Hatcher, DE,WASHINGTON vs. Tampa Bay (48): Hatcher notched his fourth sack of theseason in week nine and will benefit from the bye week to hit the field a bitmore refreshed this week. He will also benefit from lining up against aBuccaneers offense that has allowed eight sacks to defensive linemen in theirlast three games. Desmond Bryant, DE,CLEVELAND vs. Houston (49): Bryant has battled a wrist injury for themajority of the season but looked as good as he has all year last week. He putup six total tackles and a pair of sacks while playing 42 snaps. The Texanswill be rolling out Ryan Mallett at quarterback this week and he is not exactlyfleet of foot. Look for Bryant to continue his hot streak by getting to theinexperienced Mallett at least once this week. Osi Umenyiora, DE,ATLANTA at Carolina (59): Umenyiora is coming off his most productive gameof the season finishing with three total stops along with a pass defended and 1½ sacks. He's playing mainly a pass rushing specialist role and averaging 24snaps per game. Look for him to do plenty of damage this week even on a limitedsnap count. The Panthers just allowed nine sacks in Week 10 and have given up14 in the last two games. For at least one week we will see the Umenyiora ofdays gone by. Sharrif Floyd, DT,MINNESOTA at Chicago (44): In the last two games the Bears have allowed 22total tackles as well as 2 ½ sacks and two forced fumbles to defensive linemen.Floyd has racked up 18 total stops and 2 ½ sacks in his last three games andhas become a disruptive interior force for the Vikings. The Bears offense isout of sync and Floyd should be able to create pressure up the gut this weekmaking life miserable for Jay Cutler. LINEBACKERS Christian Kirksey,ILB, ...

IDP Sleepers - Week 5 fantasysharks.com Fri 10/5/12 7:00 AM

The first quarter of the season is over, and most teams, excluding the Pittsburgh Steelers and Indianapolis Colts, have played four games. Defensive depth charts continue to change weekly. Injuries and performance issues have seen some players emerge as surprisingly effective fantasy performers (Russell Allen comes to mind) and other big names have struggled mightily out of the gate (I'm looking at you, Jared Allen). Let's keep moving forward in our quest to locate the perfect sleeper options for Week 5. LINEBACKERS Craig Robertson, OLB, Cleveland at New York Giants: Showing excellent versatility as a situational linebacker, Robertson has been a pleasant, fantasy surprise. Through four weeks, he has more than 25 total tackles, two interceptions and three passes defended. There are concerns that when James-Michael Johnson returns from injury that Robertson will fade back to the bench, but I'm not buying it. The kid has earned his playing time and it will continue in a nice matchup against the Giants in Week 5. Calvin Pace, OLB, New York Jets vs. Houston: Pace returns to the sleeper list for a second consecutive week as the Texans are coming to town. Houston is an excellent matchup for linebackers, and Pace put up a respectable Week 4 performance, mainly due to a sack and forced fumble. Look for better tackle numbers in Week 5 for Pace as Arian Foster and company pound the rock at the Jets defense. Melvin Ingram, OLB, San Diego at New Orleans : Ingram has been getting close to the quarterback in his rookie campaign; he just hasn't finished the deal, yet. He has been credited with eight quarterback hurries and deflected two passes through four games. Look for Week 5 to be his coming out party. He's being utilized as a pass rushing specialist and the Saints love to throw the ball. Ingram will see increased playing time and the Saints are a mess right now. That equates to a very productive fantasy week for the rookie. Koa Misi, LB, Miami at Cincinnati: Misi is a matchup play this week as he struggles in coverage but plays well against the run. His snap count will be up this week against the Bengals, after playing a season-low 38 snaps last week against the Arizona Cardinals. He did contribute a couple of big plays last week with a forced fumble and 1½ sacks. Solid tackle numbers and the potential for a big play or two in Week 5 make Misi a very nice sleeper candidate against Cincinnati. Ryan Kerrigan, OLB, Washington vs. Atlanta: Kerrigan is the last...

IDP Waiver Wire: Week 13 fantasysharks.com Tue 11/29/11 5:00 AM

It's now Week 13 of the 2011 fantasy football season, which means that in any number of IDP leagues this week is the end of the regular season, making every lineup and roster decision a huge one as teams scramble to try to squeak into the playoffs or secure a first round bye. It's also so late in the season, which means that the IDP Waiver Wires in many leagues are rather threadbare, making finding upgrades or injury replacements that much daunting an endeavor. That said here are some players that should be available on many IDP waiver wires that are worth targeting as we head into Week 13. PICKUP OF THE WEEK E. J. Henderson -- MLB, Minnesota Vikings: A knee injury limited Henderson's role and production earlier in the season, but the nine-year veteran has turned it on of late, logging 21 tackles and a sack over his past two games. Henderson appears to have played himself back into a three-down role and could make for a very nice late-season add if another IDP owner in your league lost patience with him. Dave Ball -- DE, Tennessee Titans: The veteran end missed the last three games due to injury but was back in the lineup last week against Tampa Bay and played well, racking up four total tackles, two sacks, and a forced fumble. That stat line likely represents the 30 year-old's IDP ceiling, but if your team's ailing at DL (as many are right now) you could probably do a lot worse than giving Ball a look. J.J. Watt -- DE, Houston Texans: The rookie defensive end has been up-and-down (as many 3-4 DE are) but last week's win over the Jaguars was certainly an "up" week, as the former Wisconsin standout made seven total tackles and added two sacks. The Texans have a rather IDP-friendly schedule down the stretch, so IDP owners in a bind at DL should certainly look to brighten their roster with some Watt-age. Connor Barwin -- OLB, Houston Texans: Watt wasn't the only Houston defender that went off last week, as outside linebacker Connor Barwin terrorized the Jaguars for 10 total tackles and an eye-popping four sacks. The third-year pro now has 16 total tackles and 6.5 sacks over his past three contests, making him a definite target for IDP squads with a need at LB, especially in sack-heavy formats. D.J. Smith -- ILB, Green Bay Packers: Starting WILB and IDP beefcake Desmond Bishop aggravated his calf injury early in last week's Turkey Day tilt with the Detroit Lions, giving way to rookie D.J. Smith, who finished the game with 6 stops. Bishop's status for Week ...
