McCoy is expected to step in as the Cardinals' starting quarterback for the final four games of the season after Kyler Murray was diagnosed Tuesday with a torn ACL, Doug Haller, Jeff Howe and Larry Holder of The Athletic report.
EDGE Analysis
McCoy will make his third start of the season Sunday in Denver, unless the Cardinals want to get a longer look at third-stringer Trace McSorley. The 36-year-old McCoy ended up playing the majority of Monday's 27-13 loss to the Patriots after Murray suffered what proved to be a season-ending injury three snaps into the contest. Over his three 2022 appearances to date, McCoy has completed 77 of 111 attempts (69.4 percent) for 702 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions while adding 12 carries for 34 yards. He's unlikely to be much more than a low-end fantasy option at quarterback, but that could be enough for McCoy to gain some relevance in leagues that start two signal-callers or have a superflex spot.

McCoy filled in for an injured Kyler Murray (knee) during Monday's 27-13 loss to the Patriots, completing 27 of 40 passes for 246 yards, no touchdowns and one interception while turning five carries into 24 yards.
EDGE Analysis
Unexpectedly, McCoy ended up handling most of the Cardinals' snaps on offense Week 14 after Murray suffered a non-contact injury to his left knee on the third play from scrimmage. Murray promptly was deemed questionable to return, and Arizona eventually ruled him out. Afterward, coach Kliff Kingsbury told Darren Urban of the team's official site that Murray's injury "doesn't look good," and he'll "know more" about its extent Tuesday morning. There's a likelihood Murray has logged his last action of the 2022 campaign, which would leave McCoy to be under center for the final four games.

McCoy (elbow) was listed as a full participant on Friday's injury report and should be available to suit up Sunday versus the Chargers, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
McCoy made his second straight start in place of injured quarterback Kyler Murray (hamstring) during Monday's game against San Francisco, though he came out of this game with a right elbow injury. The 36-year-old backup was then limited during practice Wednesday and Thursday before logging a full session Friday. As a result, McCoy should slot back in behind Murray, who does not carry an injury designation and is expected to be a full go against the Chargers.

McCoy was a limited participant at Wednesday's walk-through practice due to a right elbow injury, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
In his first start in place of Kyler Murray (hamstring) in Week 10, McCoy picked up a left knee issue. He overcame that injury and drew another start in Monday's loss to the 49ers in Mexico City, only to pick up a new health concern coming out of that game. Murray seemingly is in line to be available Sunday against the Chargers after being listed as a full participant on Wednesday's practice estimate. If that comes to pass, Murray will push McCoy back to a reserve role, assuming the latter is active himself.

McCoy completed 24 of his 34 passes for 218 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Monday's 38-10 loss to San Francisco.
EDGE Analysis
McCoy got his second straight start with Kyler Murray (hamstring) sidelined. He began the performance in promising enough fashion, as he led Arizona to 10 points across their first five possessions while relying heavily on DeAndre Hopkins. However, things fell apart rapidly in the second half, with the result being an abysmal performance from both an individual and team perspective. Murray has been a game-time decision each of the last two weeks, which makes it realistic for him to return in Week 12 against the Chargers.

McCoy will start in place of Kyler Murray (hamstring) on Monday against the 49ers in Mexico City, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Murray out for a second consecutive contest, McCoy again will get the nod under center. McCoy missed two snaps to have his left leg looked at during a Week 10 win at the Rams and then was limited at the first practice of Week 11 prep due to a knee injury. Having said that, he was able to log full sessions Friday and Saturday and will look to put up another fair effort Monday after completing 26 of 37 passes for 238 yards and one touchdown during the aforementioned victory. Helping McCoy's cause is the fact that DeAndre Hopkins will be available after dealing with a hamstring issue ahead of this game.

McCoy appears on track to make a second consecutive start Monday against the 49ers in Mexico City with Kyler Murray (hamstring) listed as questionable but not expected to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Josina Anderson of CBS Sports further supports Rapoport's report, noting that McCoy will "definitively" start Monday, with the Cardinals having known since last week that Murray wasn't on track to play in Mexico City. Though Murray at least has taken some steps forward in his recovery, practicing on a limited basis Thursday through Saturday, the Cardinals apparently aren't convinced that he's healed enough to return to the lineup. A final word on his status won't arrive until the Cardinals release their inactive list 90 minutes before the 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff, but assuming Murray is inactive, Trace McSorley will dress as McCoy's backup for the second week in a row. In his first start in place of Murray In last week's 27-17 win over the Rams, McCoy completed 26 of 37 attempts for 238 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions.

McCoy (knee) practiced in full Friday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
McCoy appears to be a step ahead of No. 1 quarterback Kyler Murray (hamstring) with their respective levels of health. While McCoy followed Thursday's limited session with all activity one day later, Murray has logged back-to-back capped practices to begin Week 11 prep. How both fare Saturday likely will be the deciding factor for coach Kliff Kingsbury ahead of Monday's game versus the 49ers, but McCoy seems to have a chance to earn a second straight start in place of Murray.

McCoy (knee) was a limited practice participant Thursday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Both McCoy and No. 1 quarterback Kyler Murray (hamstring) had a cap on their reps to kick off Week 11 prep. Coach Kliff Kingsbury isn't expected to make a decision on the Cardinals' starting QB for Monday's game versus the 49ers in Mexico City until later this week, but if McCoy gets the nod over Murray for a second straight week, he'll be coming off a 238-yard, one-touchdown passing performance this past Sunday at the Rams.

Coach Kliff Kingsbury said Wednesday that McCoy is tending to a minor knee injury, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kingsbury also added a decision on the Cardinals' starting quarterback between Kyler Murray (hamstring) and McCoy for Monday's game versus the 49ers will be made later this week. McCoy filled in for Murray this past Sunday at the Rams, completing 26 of 37 passes for 238 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. At the same time, McCoy also missed two plays to have his upper left leg wrapped before returning to the game. If he gets the nod over Murray in Week 11, McCoy could have wide receivers DeAndre Hopkins, Rondale Moore and Marquise Brown (foot) -- who was designated for return from IR on Wednesday -- at his disposal.
