Bucs S Cody Grimm was arrested for public intoxication in Leesburg, Va. early Sunday morning. According to the Washington Post, it's the second time in three months that Grimm has been popped for public drunkenness. Both charges are misdemeanors, but the injury-prone special teamer was already on the roster bubble going into the final year of his rookie contract. He's not doing himself any favors.

Bucs S Cody Grimm agreed to a $500,000 salary slash to keep his roster spot in Tampa Bay. The Bucs have loads of cap space, but GM Mark Dominik is smartly still keeping tabs on every small detail, refusing to overpay even for bottom-of-the-roster players. Grimm was owed $1.2 million and slashed his salary to $500,000. A 12-game starter his first two seasons in the league, Grimm is now entrenched as a backup and special teamer. He'll compete to keep his roster spot in camp.

Bucs S Cody Grimm's 2013 base salary increased from $575,000 to $1.2 million after he hit escalators in his rookie deal. Grimm entered the league as a seventh-round pick out of Virginia Tech, but he's finished each of his three seasons on injured reserve with a broken leg and two knee injuries. Grimm is primarily a special teams player.

Cody Grimm is practicing as first-round pick Mark Barron's primary backup at strong safety at Bucs OTAs. The Bucs no longer use safeties interchangeably, so Grimm is now strictly a strong safety. Ahmad Black is FS Ronde Barber's backup. Grimm was a solid starter his first two seasons, but durability has been a big concern. He's missed 18-of-32 possible games so far in his career. He'll be a special teamer in 2012.

Bucs FS Cody Grimm (knee) is participating in this week's minicamp. Grimm's season ended in late September after tearing the meniscus and MCL in his right knee. Now healthy six months later, Grimm starts the offseason program atop the depth chart with the rest of the team's safeties in flux. DT Gerald McCoy (biceps) is also participating this week.

Bucs placed FS Cody Grimm (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season. Grimm tore ligaments on a play in which his knee knocked Geno Hayes unconscious while hitting the linebacker's helmet. The move to end his season suggests Grimm tore the ACL in addition to the MCL in his right knee. Larry Asante and Corey Lynch are candidates to fill in this week, though Tanard Jackson may be returning from suspension shortly. Grimm has exceeded expectations as a 2010 seventh-rounder, but he's now ended up on injured reserve in both seasons with the Bucs.

Updating a previous item, Bucs FS Cody Grimm (knee) may not be lost for the season after all. The St. Petersburg Times reported early Monday that Grimm has a torn ACL, but coach Raheem Morris was more optimistic in his day-after press conference. Morris said Grimm "definitely" has an MCL injury, but may have avoided an ACL tear. The Bucs will turn to Larry Asante and Corey Lynch for an in-practice battle at free safety until Grimm returns. It appears the Bucs have no intentions of activating suspended FS Tanard Jackson at this time.
