Ex-Giants LB Clint Sintim has decided to retire. The No. 45 overall pick of the 2009 draft, Sintim hadn't appeared in a game since 2010 thanks to a series of serious knee injuries. He was waived before final cuts in Giants camp last summer. Sintim is still only 27 years old, but a comeback appears unlikely. He finishes his NFL career with 33 tackles in 24 games.

Giants waived OLB Clint Sintim. Sintim, the No. 45 overall pick in the 2009 draft, had his career crippled by knee injuries. He tore his right ACL in December of 2010 and then tore both his ACL and his patella in the 2011 preseason. Even if Sintim stuck this season, he was expected to open the year on reserve/PUP. He ends up appearing in a mere 33 games for the Giants, mostly as a special teamer.

Giants LB Clint Sintim (ACL, patellar tendon surgery) is not participating in OTAs. Sintim's blown-out right knee isn't anywhere near full strength, and the former 45th overall pick in the draft has little roster security. "Physically, he's being handled by our training staff, so I can't really say where he's going to fit in right now," acknowledged defensive coordinator Perry Fewell.

Giants SLB Clint Sintim (knee surgery, injured reserve) is unsure if he'll be ready for the start of training camp. Sintim tore his right patellar tendon and ACL in the Giants' preseason finale. He tore the same ACL in December 2010. Under contract for a bargain $565,000 in 2012, Sintim should make the team if he's healthy.

Giants placed SLB Clint Sintim on injured reserve with a torn right ACL and patellar tendon, ending his season. It's a brutal injury. "I feel bad for Clint," said coach Tom Coughlin. The ACL tear is Sintim's second since last December, and he joins CB Terrell Thomas (ACL), CB Bruce Johnson (Achilles'), CB Brian Witherspoon (ACL), and rookie DT Marvin Austin (pectoral) on the season-ending list. The 45th pick in the 2009 draft, it's fair to wonder if Sintim's NFL career is through.

Giants LB Clint Sintim is out for the season after tearing the patellar tendon "to start with" in his right knee. The hits just keep coming for the snake-bitten Giants defense. "It's bad," said coach Tom Coughlin. The injury is to the same knee that required ACL surgery in December. The slow recoveries of Mark Clayton and Nate Allen don't bode well for Sintim's chances of making an impact in 2012. This looks like a career-threatening injury on top of last year's surgery.

Giants LB Clint Sintim was carted to the locker room Thursday night with a sprained right knee. This had the look of a major injury, as the leg bent backward. It's the same knee Sintim had surgically repaired last year, and he went down in obvious pain. He had to be carried off the field, putting no weight on his leg. Sintim had been running as the backup to Mathias Kiwanuka at strong-side linebacker.

Clint Sintim lined up as the first-team strong-side linebacker at the outset of Giants camp. Sintim is coming off ACL surgery but the Giants are desperate to get production out of their 2009 second-round pick. All that's behind him is 2010 sixth-rounder Adrian Tracey and practice squad type Kenny Ingram. If Sintim is anywhere close to healthy, the job is his.
