Clemons has been released by the Cardinals, ESPN's Adam Caplan reports.
EDGE Analysis
Clemons appeared in just eight games over the past two seasons, hardly occupying a meaningful place on the Cardinals' roster. While that reality makes his release rather unsurprising, the 30-year-old did put together back-to-back seasons with at least 93 tackles prior to arriving in Arizona, so it'll be interesting to see if he earns a shot elsewhere.

The Cardinals have signed Clemons. Clemons, who will take the place of Andre Ellington on the Cardinals' active roster, will boost the team's depth at safety, with Tyrann Mathieu currently sidelined by a thumb injury.

Texans signed FS Chris Clemons to a two-year contract. Houston its overhauling its safety corps, landing Clemons and Kendrick Lewis, and bringing back Danieal Manning on a pay cut. Clemons, 28, started 32-of-32 games for the Dolphins the past two seasons. Although he isn't a big-time playmaker, Clemons can cover the deep middle and is a productive tackler, racking up 191 stops the past two seasons. He was a top-20 safety in Pro Football Focus' 2013 ratings.

ESPN Texans reporter Tania Ganguli expects the team to show interest in free agent FS Chris Clemons. Clemons has a connection with new Texans director of pro personnel Brian Gaine from their Miami days. Clemons' market has been extremely quiet but is one of the better players available. He can cover the back end and would provide an upgrade on Shiloh Keo. Clemons is our top remaining free-agent safety.

Free agent FS Chris Clemons is visiting the Lions. The Lions are on the prowl for a safety and visited with Thomas DeCoud earlier on Friday before he left town without a deal. Clemons is our No. 1 remaining free-agent safety, though he's not a real playmaker or ballhawk. He's above average in coverage on the back end but struggles at times versus the run.

The New York Daily News reports free agent FS Chris Clemons is "on the Jets' radar." He'd be a better schematic fit for the Jets than Donte Whitner, as Clemons is a true center-field safety and would complement in-the-box type SS Dawan Landry. Clemons is an excellent cover guy, though he's a bit shaky in run support and hasn't been a playmaker. The Dolphins are not expected to re-sign him.

ESPN Dolphins blogger James Walker reports that re-signing free agent FS Chris Clemons "isn't a priority." Clemons started all 16 games last season, finishing with 93 tackles and an interception. The Dolphins are looking to upgrade at safety opposite Reshad Jones, so Clemons will be allowed to test the open market. Clemons figures to be limited to one-year deals in free agency. He turns 29 this offseason.

Dolphins re-signed FS Chris Clemons to a one-year contract. Clemons was a 16-game starter for the Dolphins' No. 21 defense last season, grading out above-average against both the pass and the run. His return guarantees some stability in a secondary that could lose free agents Sean Smith and Reshad Jones.

The Miami Herald reports the Dolphins have held "extensive discussions" with free agent FS Chris Clemons about re-signing. Clemons, 27, started all 16 games in 2012 and recorded a career-high 99 tackles, while being above-average against both the pass and the run. Clemons and Brian Hartline are the only two players out of a slew of their own potential free agents that the Dolphins have had substantive talks with about coming back.
