The Jaguars have released Hyde (concussion).
EDGE Analysis
Per John Shipley of SI.com, the move provides the Jaguars with $1.9 million in cap savings, while adding on $450,000 in dead money. This past season, Hyde worked behind top back James Robinson, recording 72 carries for 253 yards and a touchdown as well as 12 catches for 65 yards on 22 targets in 12 games. The 31-year-old will now look to catch on elsewhere as a depth backfield option.

Jacksonville will place Hyde (concussion) on injured reserve Tuesday, ending his season, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hyde was diagnosed with the concussion coming out of Jacksonville's Week 14 loss to Tennessee and wasn't able to practice in any fashion last week before he was ruled out in advance of Sunday's 30-16 loss to Houston. With the running back making slow progress through the five-step concussion protocol, Jacksonville will deactivate him to open up a roster spot rather than waiting on Hyde to recover. The 31-year-old concludes his first season with the Jaguars with 72 carries for 253 yards and a touchdown to go with 12 receptions for 65 yards on 22 targets across 12 games. Dare Ogunbowale is in line to serve as the primary understudy to top back James Robinson over the final three games of the season with Hyde out of the picture.

Hyde (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Texans, John Shipley of SI.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hyde will miss his second game of the season after suffering the concussion during last week's loss to the Titans. James Robinson will continue to work as the starting tailback for Jacksonville, while Dare Ogunbowale is set to fill in as the No. 2 option versus Houston.

Hyde (concussion) didn't participate at Thursday's practice.
EDGE Analysis
Hyde sat out practice for the second straight day after entering the concussion protocols. Dare Ogunbowale is poised to take over as Jacksonville's No. 2 tailback behind starter James Robinson if Hyde is unable to play Sunday against the Texans.

Hyde is not practicing Wednesday due to a concussion, Mark Long of the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hyde took one carry for two yards and caught one of two targets for six yards during Sunday's blowout loss to the Titans, but it appears that he's since entered the league's concussion protocol. The veteran running back will need to gain full clearance before returning to game action, making his status uncertain for Week 15 against Houston. Dare Ogunbowale will act as the No. 2 option behind James Robinson if Hyde misses time.

Hyde had one carry for two yards and caught one of two targets for six yards during Sunday's 20-0 loss to the Titans.
EDGE Analysis
Hyde out-touched any other Jags running back and scored a touchdown last week after starter James Robinson lost a fumble, but Robinson reclaimed the primary role Sunday to minimal success (six touches for four yards). Hyde played only 12 offensive snaps in the blowout loss and remains nothing more than a security blanket for fantasy managers should Robinson suffer an injury.

Hyde ran for 24 yards and one touchdown on nine carries against the Rams on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Hyde took over the Jaguars backfield for a time following a first quarter fumble by starter James Robinson, though Hyde was less effective from scrimmage (23 yards on 10 touches) than Robinson (35 yards on nine touches). Hyde also lost his own fumble, so the Jaguars gained nothing by making the switch. Robinson is a better player than Hyde, so Hyde should normally get the scraps between the two, but Sunday's bleak showing from Jacksonville is a reminder of the team's futility.

Hyde had six carries for 16 yards and failed to catch his lone target during Sunday's 21-14 loss to the Falcons.
EDGE Analysis
Hyde played only six fewer offensive snaps than starter James Robinson, but Hyde still only had six touches compared to Robinson's 20. It's the first time since his start in Week 9 that Hyde has receive more than three touches as he remains an afterthought in the offensive gameplan.

Hyde failed to catch his lone target during Sunday's 30-10 loss to the 49ers.
EDGE Analysis
Hyde played 14 offensive snaps and didn't have a touch Sunday, and his target didn't come until the fourth quarter. The 31-year-old remains Jacksonville's No. 2 tailback given no other back saw any offensive reps, but he's strictly an insurance policy while James Robinson is available to play.

Hyde (shoulder) was a full participant in Friday's practice and doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game against the 49ers.
EDGE Analysis
Meanwhile, top back James Robinson (heel/knee) remained limited in practice for the second straight day and is listed as questionable for the matchup. The bruised heel prevented Robinson from playing in the Jaguars' Week 9 win over the Bills, but he returned to action Week 10 and played 58 percent of the offensive snaps while getting 16 touches in Jacksonville's loss to the Colts. Since head coach Urban Meyer didn't suggest that he experienced any setbacks in practice this week, Robinson appears on track to lead the Jacksonville backfield Sunday, so Hyde will likely remain the No. 2 option. Despite Robinson handling a less-than-full workload last week, Hyde played only 18 snaps against Indianapolis and carried twice for four yards while hauling in one of two targets for no gain.
