Updating an earlier item, LB Bryan Scott remains on the Bills roster. The Buffalo News, which reported earlier that Scott had been cut, is now reporting that the Bills hope to trade him before tomorrow's roster deadline. Either way, he doesn't have a future in Buffalo.

Bills released LB Bryan Scott. Working against Scott was a coaching regime change and $940,000 base salary, nearly double the cost of UDFAs like Keith Pough. Pough now stands a solid chance of making the final 53. Scott is a safety-linebacker hybrid.

Bills re-signed LB Bryan Scott. Scott broke the news on his Twitter account. The safety-turned-nickel linebacker stuffed the stat-sheet in 2012, notching 67 tackles, four interceptions and two forced fumbles. It's doubtful Scott is bringing home any guaranteed money beyond 2013. He'll turn 32 next month.

The Bills are now listing former S Bryan Scott as a linebacker on their roster. Scott was listed as a strong safety last season, although he was a nickel 'backer and will maintain that role in 2012, also playing special teams. At minicamp, Scott practiced as the lone linebacker on the field when opponents use five-receiver sets. Scott was the "Mike," playing in coverage over the middle.

Bills re-signed SS Bryan Scott. A hybrid at 6'1/219, Scott is a rotational safety moving to linebacker on nickel downs. He'll be charged with hanging with Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez, and Dustin Keller as long as he hangs onto his roster spot through August.
