Albert has officially been released by the Jaguars, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
After abruptly announcing his retirement from football nearly two weeks ago, Albert recently had a change of heart. However, the Jaguars already had placed him on the "reserve/retired" list, which made their ability to move him back to the active roster complicated. Thus, they have opted to simply release the veteran.

Albert has informed the Jaguars that he's interested in returning to the team, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Albert abruptly announced his retirement from football less than two weeks ago, but it appears that may have been a rash decision, and one that he seemingly regrets. While the process of moving Albert back to the active roster may be a complicated one, the Jaguars placed him on the "reserve/retired" list Tuesday after Albert was previously listed on the "left team" list. In the event that Albert ultimately rejoins the team, he'll compete with rookie Cam Robinson for snaps at either tackle or guard.

Albert announced his retirement from the NFL on Monday, John Oehser of Jaguars.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Albert's decision to hang up his cleats comes as a surprise, as the 32-year-old was just acquired from the Dolphins this spring. The two-time Pro Bowler was on the field for the Jaguars' opening days of training camp and was expected to start at left tackle this season, but his sudden retirement will force Jacksonville to look elsewhere to protect the blindside. Rookie second-rounder Cam Robinson seems the most likely candidate to fill Albert's absence, but his promotion to that role now comes a bit earlier than expected.

Albert will report to mandatory minicamp, ESPN's Michael DiRocco reports.
EDGE Analysis
Albert hasn't been present at OTAs due to a contract dispute. His participation in mandatory minicamp will reportedly be determined by the results of a physical he'll be subject to take upon arrival.

Albert is not expected to participate in Tuesday's OTAs as he continues to wait for an improved contract, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
EDGE Analysis
Albert, who was traded from the Dolphins to the Jaguars in February, isn't happy with his contract situation in Jacksonville. He'll be expected to start at left tackle upon his eventual return, but that time may not come until he's able to work out a deal with the front office. In the meantime, rookie OT Cam Robinson out of Alabama figures to see additional reps with the first team.

Albert did not attend the Jaguars' opening day of offseason workouts Monday as he holds out for a new contract, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
EDGE Analysis
Albert was acquired from the Dolphins in late February for a 2018 seventh-round pick, and although he still has two years remaining on the five-year, $47 million pact he signed back in 2014, Albert is already seeking a new deal in Jacksonville. Since the workouts that started Monday are voluntary, the Jags cannot fine Albert for not attending, but that doesn't mean the team won't be bothered by his absence. In what will be his tenth season, Albert is projected to start at left tackle for the Jaguars, making his holdout an unwanted development at a key position.

Albert was traded from the Dolphins to the Jaguars in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the 2018 draft, James Walker of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Albert has had an interesting past two weeks. The Dolphins initially announced they were going to cut the offensive tackle but decided to keep him after teams expressed interest in signing him as a free agent. Albert will likely slot in as a starting tackle with Jacksonville as long as he can stay healthy.

Albert will visit the Jaguars on Monday ahead of a potential trade for tight end Julius Thomas, NFL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Albert's meeting with the Jaguars comes after the Dolphins made their intention to either trade or cut him this offseason known. With the Jaguars similarly known to be moving on from left tackle Kelvin Beachum, Albert represents a potential upgrade at that position, and exchanging him for the underwhelming Thomas would fill Miami's need at tight end. Whether that deal comes to fruition remains to be seen, but Albert's visit Monday could prove instrumental in determining the fate of both players this offseason.

Albert remains with the Dolphins after reportedly being released, Charles Trainor Jr. of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Albert was reportedly released early in the day Thursday but as of Thursday afternoon the team decided to pump the breaks on the action. The reasons for the change are unclear, but it appears some teams expressed interest in Albert and the Dolphins will look to see if they can get anything for him in a trade. For the time being it remains unlikely that Albert will be with the Dolphins at the start of the 2017 season.

Albert will be released by the Dolphins on Thursday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Albert's release signals the start of Laremy Tunsil's tenure at left tackle for the Dolphins, who the team has pegged a future hall-of-famer since they drafted him in the first round of 2016's draft. The move also saves Miami $7.2 million in cap space, but they surrender a good player in Albert, who will surely find himself sought after throughout the coming months. Look for him to have a job at either guard or tackle by the time the 2017 regular season commences.
