Silatolu, who was originally drafted by the Panthers in 2012, was released by the Bears prior to the start of the 2016 season and ended up not playing for any team last year. He'll provide depth for an offensive line that struggled a bit last season after a strong 2015 campaign.

Panthers LG Amini Silatolu (knee) says he's "probably at 98 percent" health and should be all systems go for the start of training camp. Silatolu blew out his knee in Week 5 last season. He's fully expected to reclaim his starting job at left guard, while rookie Trai Turner is considered the favorite at right guard. The Panthers' Week 1 projected offensive line reads" LT Byron Bell, LG Silatolu, C Ryan Kalil, RG Turner, and RT Nate Chandler.

Panthers LG Amini Silatolu (ACL surgery) is doing everything except 11-on-11 work during OTAs. Silatolu is progressing well after blowing out his right knee in Week 5 last season. The Panthers desperately need the 2012 second-round pick to be a difference-maker on their talent-deficient offensive line this season.
