Former Packers cornerback Al Harris has been hired as the secondary coach for the Chiefs. Harris played for new Chiefs coach Andy Reid in Philadelphia for four seasons. Harris served as a coaching intern this season with the Miami Dolphins under former Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin. The Chiefs also named former Packers DC Bob Sanders their linebackers coach. Harris played under Sanders from 2006-2008.

Former Rams, Packers, and Eagles CB Al Harris announced his retirement. Harris' 2011 season was ended by a torn right ACL in November. "I've played my last play," said Harris, who just turned 37. His plan is to immediately join the coaching ranks. Once one of the game's most effective man-to-man cover corners, Harris played 14 seasons in the league and made two Pro Bowls. He had 21 career interceptions and returned three of them for scores.

Rams CB Al Harris has been diagnosed with a torn right ACL, and is done for the season. Harris was lucky to come back after tearing his left ACL in 2009, and it's likely his latest tear will end what's been a long and productive 14-year career. His injury again leaves the Rams in a lurch at cornerback, a position where they've now lost four of their top five players this season. Josh Gordy should get the first crack at starting opposite Justin King, but Marquis Johnson will likely also be in the mix for snaps.

Rams CB Al Harris was forced from Sunday's game against the Browns with a right knee injury, and will not return. Harris' injury appeared to be fairly serious, and is an ill-timed blow for a Rams secondary that has been decimated by injury this season. He's been replaced by former practice squader Josh Gordy.

Rams agreed to terms with CB Al Harris. Harris is now 36 years old and nearly two years removed from a career-threatening knee injury. He last just three games in Miami last season before the Dolphins pulled the plug. Harris did play under Steve Spagnuolo in Philadelphia, so he'll get one last shot to contribute as a role player.

Free agent Al Harris is in St. Louis talking to the Rams, a source tells Geoff Mosher of the Wilmington News Journal. We thought that Harris' career might be over as he turned 37 in January and has been unable to stay healthy over the last couple years. But the Rams are coached by Steve Spagnuolo, who coached Harris in Philadelphia from 1999-2003. Spags may take a flier.
