Barnes announced his retirement from professional basketball Monday on his personal Instagram account.
EDGE Analysis
A second-round pick out of UCLA in 2002, Barnes toiled in the ABA in his first two years as a professional before making his NBA debut in 2004. He would parlay his outside shooting ability and excellent wing defense into a 14-year career in the league, which included two stints apiece with the Clippers, Kings and Warriors and additional stops with the Knicks, 76ers, Suns, Magic, Lakers and Grizzlies. It wasn't until his final season in 2016-17 with Golden State that he captured his first NBA title, as he appeared in 12 postseason contests as a lightly used reserve. He wraps up his career with averages 8.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 23.6 minutes per game over 929 regular-season appearances.

Barnes (foot) logged four minutes in Monday's 106-94 win over the Jazz in Game 1 of the series, providing zero points (0-1 FG) and one assist.
EDGE Analysis
Barnes attracted some attention prior to the series after stating that he'd rather play the Clippers than the Jazz, and that may end up being the extent of the storylines surrounding him in the second round. After missing the Warriors' last six games with a right foot sprain, Barnes appears to find himself on the fringe of the team's rotation, as he saw roughly the same amount of playing time Monday as lightly-used bench forwards Patrick McCaw and James McAdoo.

Barnes (foot) will be active and available to play in Tuesday's Game 1 against the Jazz, Anthony Slater of Bay Area News Group reports.
EDGE Analysis
Barnes was given a probable designation earlier this week, so this was the expected course of action all along. He'll slot in as depth on the wing, but with both Kevin Durant and Andre Iguodala at full strength, and Barnes fresh off a six-game absence, it likely means he'll see his minutes heavily restricted.

Barnes (foot) is officially listed as probable for Tuesday's Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Jazz.
EDGE Analysis
Barnes has already said he's going to play in Tuesday's contest and assistant coach Mike Brown also mentioned that Barnes was "really close" to returning, so this latest designation as probable falls in line with previous reports. He should rejoin the lineup as a depth option off the bench, but he'll likely play just a minor role behind fellow reserve Andre Iguodala.

According to assistant coach Mike Brown, Barnes (foot) is "really close" to returning, Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Barnes indicated over the weekend that he's going to play in Game 2 on Tuesday, but it appears coach Brown isn't fully ready to clear him for the contest, so Barnes can be considered a game-time decision for the time being. He's likely closer to probable, but even if he is officially active, Barnes will likely only fill a small role off the bench behind top reserve Andre Iguodala. Look for another update on Barnes' status after Tuesday's morning shootaround.

Barnes (foot) will play in Tuesday's Western Conference Semifinals Game 1, ESPN's Chris Haynes reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Warriors may not know who they'll be playing next round quite yet, but at least they know they'll have Barnes ready to come off the bench. Barnes missed the entire first round series against Portland nursing a foot injury, but with over two weeks of rest it seems like he's closing in on a full recovery. With Kevin Durant back in the mix, Barnes figures to only spill the Warriors big guns sparingly, but depending on how a particular game evolves, Barnes could function as one of Golden State's primary reserve options going forward.

Barnes is questionable for Monday's Game 1 matchup against a to-be-determined opponent, Connor Letourneau of the San Fransisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Barnes was sidelined for the entirety of the Warriors' sweep of the Trail Blazers due to a right foot sprain and is being considered questionable for Game 1 of the next round. His questionable designation Wednesday doesn't indicate much about his status considering the length of time between then and Monday's game, but additional updates about Barnes' availability should be announced at some point during the week as the team continues to practice and Barnes continues to recover.

Barnes (foot) is out for Monday's playoff game against Portland.
EDGE Analysis
Early reports seemed to indicate there was a chance Barnes could suit up, but the team sees no need to rush him back onto the court before he's fully ready to give it a go. At the bare minimum, Golden State will play four more postseason games, so the expectation is that Barnes will find his way back onto the floor sometime before year's end.

Barnes (foot) took part in shootaround, but remains questionable for Monday's Game 4 against the Trail Blazers, Anthony Slater of Bay Area News Group reports.
EDGE Analysis
Barnes appears to be trending in the right direction for a return, as he was able to go through a practice late last week and has now participated in the team's morning shootaround ahead of Game 4. The Warriors are heavy favorites to finish off a sweep of the Trail Blazers on Monday, so there's still a chance they rest guys like Barnes, Kevin Durant (calf) and Shaun Livingston (finger) to avoid further aggravations. That said, all three should be evaluated after pregame warmups and will likely be game-time calls.

Barnes (foot) is questionable for Monday's Game 4 matchup against the Trail Blazers.
EDGE Analysis
Though he practiced Friday, Barnes sat out Saturday's Game 3 and is considered questionable for Game 4. Understandably, the Warriors are opting to exercise caution with their injured players, including star forward Kevin Durant (calf), who is also listed as questionable for Monday. If Barnes plays, his role will likely be contingent on Durant's availability, so both players' statuses should continue to be monitored in tandem. If one of the two ultimately misses the game, Patrick McCaw will likely continue starting at the small forward slot.
