Perkins was held scoreless (0-3 FG, 0-2 FT) in 18 minutes of action against the New Jersey Nets on Monday. He added four rebounds and turned the ball over twice. Perkins is slow, which leaves the Thunder vulnerable to transition buckets. He's simply a liability when on the floor both defensively and offensively. Steven Adams is the starter at C and a much better fantasy option. If you picked Perkins up after his 17-point anomaly on Saturday, go ahead and drop him now.

Perkins played his first minutes of the season for the Thunder on Thursday against the Clippers, failing to make a single field goal. Although he's healthy, Steven Adams is the presumed starter at center. Perkins came off the bench, playing 19 minutes and scoring only three points (0-2 FG, 3-4 FT), though he did pull down six rebounds. Perkins will likely continue to come off the bench.

Perkins (quad) will come off the bench to begin the season, Anthony Slater of The Oklahoman reports. Coach Scott Brooks announced Tuesday that Steven Adams has won the starting job, which will push Perkins to the bench for the first time in four seasons. Perkins has started every game he's played in a Thunder uniform, but his effectiveness - particularly on offense - has tailed off over the past two years. The 29-year-old isn't much of a fantasy commodity, and his numbers - 3.4 points, 4.9 rebounds last season - probably won't be significantly impacted this season.

Perkins (quad) practiced Thursday and is expected to be ready for the regular season opener, Anthony Slater of The Oklahoman reports. Perkins missed all of the preseason with a hamstring injury, but he returned to practice Thursday and will have about a week to get himself conditioned for the regular season. While Perkins projects to be in the starting lineup again this season, second-year forward/center Steven Adams is sure to see plenty of minutes.

Perkins (quadriceps) will not play against the Timberwolves in Sunday's preseason game, the Star Tribune reports. Perkins has been dealing with a quad injury since late September and consequentially has had an unproductive training camp. However, the 29-year-old is an aging veteran that hardly needs to go through training camp to be ready for the start of the regular season. With the capable and young Steven Adams nipping at the heels of Perkins, it's still unclear who will end up being the Thunder's starting center to open the season on Oct. 29 against Portland.

Perkins (quad) will not play Tuesday against Memphis, Darnell Mayberry of The Oklahoman reports. Perkins is nursing a quad injury that's kept him out since late-September, but he should be nearing a return. With Serge Ibaka (ankle) also out Tuesday, Steven Adams figures to see plenty of minutes.

Perkins (quadriceps) will not play in Wednesday's preseason game, the Oklahoman's Anthony Slater reports. This is around the time when Perkins was expected to be reevaluated, and although he hasn't been cleared to play in Wednesday's exhibition, there's still no reason to think he won't be ready for the regular season.

Perkins (quad) sustained a quad injury and will miss the start of training camp, Anthony Slater of The Oklahoman reports. The big man will be reevaluated in two weeks, at which point it will be determined whether he's ready to ramp up his activity during camp. While Perkins will almost certainly be ready for the regular season, the setback could give Steven Adams the upper hand in the battle for the starting center spot. Perkins has the veteran edge, but he was much maligned for his play last season and Adams is indisputably more active on both ends of the floor.

According to Chris Broussard of ESPN.com, the Heat could make a run at acquiring Kendrick Perkins. Needless to say, things will have to go horribly wrong for the Heat to make a move on Perkins. He has one year left on his deal and his decline as a big man has been a precipitous one. The Thunder added Michigan center Mitch McGary in the draft to make Big Perk even more expendable.

Oklahoma City Thunder general manager Sam Presti said on Thursday that the team has not discussed whether to use the amnesty clause on Kendrick Perkins. "It's not something that's been considered to this point," he said. Perk's production has dipped every season he has been in Oklahoma City, and the development of Steven Adams may soon render him expendable. He is set to make $9.4M next season, the fourth highest salary on the team. With OKC already tight against the salary cap, they may change their tune on the big man when the free agency period comes around. Perkins should not be on fantasy radars heading in to next season.
