Salmons will be waived by the Suns following Thursday's trade from New Orleans, the Arizona Republic reports.Salmons managed just 21 appearances in the Pelicans' 53 games this season, averaging two points (on 33 percent shooting) and one rebound in 13 minutes. Personal concerns were cited as his lack of presence at times in New Orleans, but in any case, he'll likely find it difficult to land another NBA gig in his 13th season.

Salmons was traded to the Suns on Thursday, Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic reports.Salmons was reportedly dealt to Miami at one point, but when the dust settled he ended up in Phoenix, where he'll likely step into a similar role to the one he saw in New Orleans. Salmons appeared in less than half of the Pelicans' games this season, averaging only 2.0 points in 12.9 minutes.

Salmons returned to the court Monday night after playing just once in the month of January. Salmons is simply behind the rest of the Pelicans on the depth chart. He provides a veteran presence, but Salmons won't be in line for big minutes any time soon. He's averaging just 2.1 points per game on 34.0 percent shooting this season.

Salmons (personal) was officially listed as active for Friday's game against Houston although he never actually took the court. It's still a bit unclear exactly why Salmons missed two games, although the Pelicans are chalking it up to personal reasons so there's no concern for his actual abilities on the court. As for the DNP - Coach's Decision on Friday, that remains somewhat of a mystery as well. However, it might be that coach Monty Williams wasn't ready to send Salmons into action since he'd been away from the team for a few days. Salmons is expected to be available for Monday's game against the Wizards but he's certainly a risky play as a result of his recent absences.

Salmons (personal) has been upgraded to probable for Friday's game against the Rockets. Salmons was previously expected to miss an extended period of time, but it now seems that he'll be available Friday night. He's averaging just 13.6 minutes through 18 appearances, and he hasn't topped the 20-minute mark since Dec. 4.

Salmons' coach, Monty Williams, said that he doesn't expect the small forward to return "any time soon," according to an ESPN.com report. Salmons missed Tuesday night's game due to personal reasons and it sounds like he'll be out for at least a few games. He hadn't made much of a fantasy impact to this point in the season, averaging 2.3 points and 1.2 rebounds per game.

Salmons (personal) will not play Tuesday against the Suns, Nakia Hogan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Salmons has played reserve minutes off the bench of late and hasn't made much of an impact from a fantasy perspective this season. In the month of December, he's averaging just 1.9 points per game on 27.3 percent shooting in 15.0 minutes.

Salmons played 18 minutes Friday against the Spursthe most he's played since December 6. Salmons was brought in to be a veteran presence for the Pelicans, but has not been a consistent contributor this season. Salmons hasn't scored more than five points all month and has appeared in just 17 of New Orleans' 29 games.

Salmons has seen the quality of his play improve over the past two games, averaging 9.0 points and 2.0 assists in the contest. Salmons got off to a very slow start, but with the injury to Eric Gordon and the rest of the team's shooting woes, he has been able to rise above the rest of the bench. Having scored just seven points total going into the weekend, Salmons scored nine in each of the Pelicans' two games, knocking down four 3-pointers. The minutes will keep coming for Salmons as long as the shooting continues to be on point.

Salmons has returned to the team and will play in Saturday's game, NBA.com's Jim Eichenhofer reports. He missed Tuesday's game because of the birth of his son, but is back practicing with the team, and should resume his typical reserve role with the team Saturday.
