After receiving minimal interest from NBA teams this offseason, the 30-year-old will head overseas to China. It remains to be seen whether his NBA career is over, but there's a chance he tries to latch on with a contender once the CBA season comes to a close.

Thompson contributed two points (1-1 FG) and three rebounds over 10 minutes in Wednesday's 99-91 Game 5 win over the Heat.

EDGE Analysis

It was the first appearance of the series for Thompson, who ended up replacing Lucas Nogueira in the Raptors rotation as the backup center behind Bismack Biyombo. Jonas Valanciunas (ankle) is slated to miss the rest of the series, so Thompson could be asked to assume some light minutes in the rotation until Valanciunas is cleared to return.

Thompson (coach's decision) didn't play in Tuesday's 102-96 overtime loss to the Heat in Game 1 of the series.

After playing in each of the Raptors' final 11 games to end the regular season, Thompson has been the victim of coach Dwane Casey tightening his rotation in the playoffs. Thompson has appeared in just three of the Raptors' eight postseason games to date, logging no more than three minutes in any outing.

Thompson will draw the start in Toronto's season finale versus the Nets.

Thompson will start at the power forward Wednesday. He should see a relatively high workload given the team is resting a large portion of their regular rotational players.

Luis Scola is sitting this one out with a sore knee, and Thompson will benefit from his absence. Thompson has averaged 6.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in two other starts this season. Scola is not expected to miss an extended amount of time, so Thompson will only be intriguing in DFS formats.

Thompson totaled six points (3-5 FG, 0-1 FT), 10 rebounds, one assist, and one block in 24 minutes during the Raptors' 91-79 loss to the Celtics on Wednesday.

Thompson has grabbed 10 rebounds in consecutive contests while Patrick Patterson (ankle) has been sidelined.
