Johnson has agreed to a contract with Filipino club Talk N'Text, Sportando reports.Yes, that's a real team name. Johnson, who was waived by the Mavericks' D-League affiliate earlier in February, will take his game across the ocean in an effort to restore some value. His contract with Talk N'Text includes an out clause if any NBA teams express interest in the forward, who hasn't played in the league since 2012-13.

Johnson has been cut from the Mavericks, RealGM.com reports. Johnson has played sparingly in the preseason and could look to latch on with another team or join a D-League squad.

Johnson (illness) was able to participate in Tuesday's preseason loss to the Rockets. He finished 0-for-5 from the field in 10 minutes of action. Johnson picked up two points on two made free-throws but did little else to prove he deserves one of Dallas' coveted roster spots.

Johnson missed practice Wednesday with a stomach illness, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Dwain Price reports. It sounds like just a minor ailment, and he should be healthy for the start of the regular season.

The Mavericks have signed PF/C Ivan Johnson, who spent the 2013-14 season playing in China. The Atlanta Hawks are one of several teams reportedly interested in Johnson's services, so there is a very good chance he'll be back in the NBA this season. Johnson had been lighting up the CBA, but his fantasy value if he returns to the NBA will be reserved for the deepest of leagues.

Johnson is tearing it up in China with averages of 25.8 points, 10.2 boards, 2.9 steals and 2.3 triples on 61.8 percent shooting. Even if he makes an NBA team, he's still unlikely to have fantasy value.

He reportedly gave NBA teams a two-week deadline back on August 19, so that didn't pique much interest of teams still looking to add a big man. Johnson started his NBA career at 27 years old back in the 2011-12 season, so he'll be past his prime once his one-year deal is over.
