Andersen (knee) will be waived by the Hornets, Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Hornets essentially did the Cavaliers a favor in taking in Andersen in exchange for cash and a highly protected second round pick, but they will now waive him in order to keep a roster spot open. Charlotte will use that spot to sign Mike Tobey to a second 10-day contract, while Andersen's NBA career has likely reached its conclusion.

Andersen (knee) was traded Monday to the Hornets for cash and a protected second round pick.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen has already been ruled out for the season after tearing his ACL in practice, but the move opens up a roster spot for the Cavaliers, allowing them to potentially sign a another player for the second half of the season. At 38 years old and recovering from a knee surgery, there is a good chance the Hornets release Andersen and that this is his last season in the NBA.

Andersen suffered a torn ACL at practice Friday, and will miss the remained of the year as a result, Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is a tough break for the veteran big man. He has been out of the rotation all year, but did play 20 minutes in the Cavaliers' last game due to three starters being rested. Given Andersen's age, it remains to be seen if he will attempt to continue his career next season.

Andersen finished with two points (0-1 FG, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and one assist across 11 minutes in Tuesday's 118-101 loss to the Bucks.
EDGE Analysis
After being a non-rotation option for coach Tyronn Lue through mid-November, Andersen has suited up in five of the Cavs' last six games. However, all five of those appearances in games that were decided by 10 or more points, so it shouldn't be expected that Andersen will see much run in games that are more competitive in the second half. He'll have an even tougher path to playing time with fellow reserve Channing Frye (personal) set to rejoin the Cavs in advance of Thursday's game against the Clippers.

Andersen (coach's decision) didn't play in Cleveland's win over Boston on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen has only seen playing time in two of Cleveland's first six games. He was given six minutes during Cleveland's 117-88 blowout win over New York, and nine minutes against Orlando when Channing Frye (personal) didn't travel with the team. It seems unlikely that Andersen will see minutes except during blowouts or if a rotational player isn't available.

Andersen will be rested and not play in Friday's preseason contest against the Bulls, K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen is one of nine Cleveland veterans who are being rested and didn't make the trip to Chicago. He'll likely play in Tuesday's preseason matchup with the Wizards.

Andersen will start Wednesday's matchup against the Magic, John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tristan Thompson has been ruled out with a stiff left foot, so Andersen will get the nod at center, joining Kevin Love and LeBron James in the frontcourt. While James and Love will have their workloads capped at around 12 and 15 minutes, respectively, Andersen could see a slightly more expanded role.

Andersen has agreed to a one-year deal with Cleveland, Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen played two years with LeBron James in Miami, so it is not a huge surprise to see the 38-year old veteran join him in Cleveland. While he will likely take over the reserve center spot in the rotation left by Timofey Mozgov, he will have a hard time finding consistent minutes in the rotation. Andersen saw just 5.1 minutes per game in Miami last season before being traded to Memphis. He saw a relatively large jump in workload for the Grizzlies, posting 4.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 0.7 steals, and 0.5 blocks in 18.3 minutes per game.

Andersen scored seven points (1-5 FG, 5-8 FT) and pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds while adding two assists, a steal and a block in 24 minutes during Sunday's loss to the Spurs.
EDGE Analysis
The Birdman brought his typical energy Sunday, as he saw some extra minutes after San Antonio effectively put the game away with a big third quarter. Andersen averaged 7.8 rebounds in 19.8 minutes per game during the series, serving as one of the only available frontcourt options for the Grizz. He will be a free agent this summer, and there has been no indication as to whether or not Memphis intends to bring him back.

Andersen will not start Friday's Game 3 against the Spurs, Rob Fischer of Sport 56 WBHQ reports.
EDGE Analysis
The big man added four points and eight rebounds in 24 minutes during Game 2, but his move out of the starting lineup will likely result in fewer minutes and potentially less production as well. The Grizzlies will go the smaller route with their lineup Friday, shifting Zach Randolph to center while bumping Tony Allen into the starting five.
