James did not receive a qualifying offer from the Mavs, making him an unrestricted free agent, NBA.com reports. James is the Mavs' token bench player from the last three seasons. He's a good role player who can step in and serve as a no-mistake rotation piece when injuries have cut down the Mavs' frontcourt, but James isn't a regular rotation player, limiting his impact in fantasy.

James finished the year with Dallas despite being waived prior to the start of the season. He played in China after being cut but returned to the Mavericks on a pair of 10-day contracts. He ultimately landed a season-long deal and finished the year on the roster. James appeared in 16 games averaging 2.8 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks per game. He remains an end of the rotation insurance policy and has yet to make an impact in the fantasy world during his three-year career.

James scored five points on 2-of-7 shooting Monday. He finished with five rebounds but turned the ball over three times. James played 23 minutes off the bench with Tyson Chandler and Dirk Nowitzki resting in anticipation of the draft.

The Star-Telegram reported an incorrect lineup earlier in the evening which listed James as the starting center. Amar'e Stoudemire will, in fact, get the start, and James will come off the bench. Both players figure to see increased roles with a number of regulars resting.

James received his second consecutive DNP-CD Wednesday and has played sparingly in Dallas' last 13 outings. James played 25 minutes on March 2 in a win over New Orleans but has logged just 21 total minutes in the 13 games since. He will continue to fight for minutes in a loaded Dallas front court that includes Tyson Chandler and Amar'e Stoudemire.

James scored two points Friday in a loss to the Warriors. He played six minutes and collected two rebounds. James will struggle to find minutes when both Tyson Chandler and Amar'e Stoudemire are active and remains a limited fantasy option.

James came off the bench for two minutes against Portland on Thursday. James recently signed with the Mavericks for the rest of the season but that doesn't necessarily mean that he'll see extended time on the court as a result. Expect the 30-year-old to be limited off the bench moving forward.
