Varejao signed a second 10-day contract with the Cavaliers on Friday, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
EDGE Analysis
It will effectively be a three-day deal, with the forward remaining in Cleveland for the final three days of the regular season. Varejao has averaged 2.5 points and 4.3 rebounds in 7.8 minutes over four games.

Varejao made his season debut for the Cavs on Wednesday against the Blazers and posted one point (0-4 FG, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, one assist and one block in seven minutes.
EDGE Analysis
It was a whirlwind seven minutes for the veteran, who made his return to the Cavaliers out of nowhere after last playing in the NBA in 2016-17. A fan-favorite in Cleveland, Varejao was brought in to provide some veteran leadership, but he's very unlikely to make much of an impact over the team's final six regular-season games. Varejao didn't check into Wednesday's game until late in the fourth quarter when the Cavs were trailing by 27 points.

Varejao is expected to make his season debut Wednesday against the Trail Blazers, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Varejao will be available to play in Wednesday's game after signing a "celebratory" 10-day contract. This will be the center's first game back in the league since the 2016-17 season, where he played for the Warriors. Expect the 38-year-old to receive limited minutes in his debut.

Varejao (recently signed) is out for Tuesday's game against the Suns, Marla Ridenour of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, the veteran will not debut Tuesday, as he needs some more time to get up to speed. His next chance to play arrives Wednesday against the Trail Blazers.

Varejao, who officially signed a 10-day contract with the Cavaliers, is unlikely to be available for Tuesday's game against the Suns while he works his way into playing shape.
EDGE Analysis
Considering that Varejao hasn't played in the NBA since the 2016-17 season and hasn't played anywhere professionally since 2018-19, the 38-year-old will need some time to get fully conditioned. Since Cleveland will have seven players out Tuesday due to injuries, Varejao will still be active for the contest, but he's unlikely to leave the bench outside of an emergency. Even once the Cavaliers are comfortable with his conditioning, Varejao isn't expected to be a regular part of head coach J.B. Bickerstaff's rotation.

Varejao plans to sign with the Cavaliers for the remainder of the season, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Varejao hasn't played in the NBA since he played 14 games for the Warriors during the 2016-17 season. The 38-year-old most recently played in Brazil, but he'll now return to the Cavaliers after spending the first 12 years of his career with the team. He's unlikely to play a significant role for Cleveland late in the 2020-21 campaign.

Varejao has agreed to terms with Flamengo of Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB), Sportando.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Varejao most recently played during the 2016-17 campaign with the Warriors, where he appeared in 14 tilts and averaged 1.3 points and 1.9 rebounds across 6.6 minutes per game. The 35-year-old has opted to sign a profession deal in Brazil, where he was born. It seems highly unlikely at this point that he makes an NBA return.

Varejao cleared waivers Sunday, ESPN.com's Chris Haynes reports.
EDGE Analysis
Varejao, who was signed to a one-year deal for the veterans' minimum, wasn't able to attract attention from any teams after the Warriors waived him Friday. That doesn't close the door on Varejao resurfacing at the NBA level, however, as several teams were said to be interested in signing him once he cleared waivers. The aging center will likely look to latch on with a contending team at some point in the coming weeks.

Varejao was waived by the Warriors on Friday, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Even with Zaza Pachulia (shoulder) expected to be sidelined for at least a week, Varejao wasn't needed to provide much insurance at center, considering the Warriors already had JaVale McGee, Draymond Green, David West and Damian Jones on hand to cover the position. With the 34-year-old deemed an expendable piece, the Warriors will instead add depth at point guard, bringing in the defensive-minded Briante Weber on a 10-day contract. Varejao, who has made just 14 appearances on the season and is averaging 6.6 minutes per game, could sign with another team to provide some energy off the bench in the frontcourt, assuming he goes unclaimed off waivers.

Varejao posted two points (1-2 FG, 0-1 FT), one rebound and one assist across six minutes in a 127-107 loss to the Pistons on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Steve Kerr dusted Varejao off for the veteran's first appearance since Dec. 22, with all of his minutes coming when the outcome was well in hand. Varejao is behind Zaza Pachulia, Draymond Green and JaVale McGee in the pecking order at center, and he's unlikely to enter the rotation unless at least two of those aforementioned players are out with injuries.
