Jose Lopez has agreed to a one-year contract with the Yomiuri Giants of Japan's Central League. The deal will pay him $911,000, which is probably double what he would have made state-side. Lopez batted just .246/.270/.356 in 81 games last season, but he does have some power and should do pretty well in Japan.
