White Sox signed INF Jose Lopez to a minor league contract; assigned him to Triple-A Charlotte. Lopez was released by the Indians over the weekend after clearing waivers. The 28-year-old batted just .249/.272/.366 with four home runs, 28 RBI and a .639 OPS in 224 plate appearances with Cleveland this season, but he figures to join the White Sox at some point in late August or September.
