Perez signed a minor-league deal with the Cardinals, Baseball America reports.
EDGE Analysis
After being outrighted to Double-A as a member of the Marlins organization earlier this month, Perez opted for free agency and quickly found a new organization. At 27 years old, the center fielder will only provide organizational depth going forward. He hit .169/.280/.242 with zero home runs and 10 steals in 76 games at Double-A last year.

Perez was outrighted to Double-A Jacksonville on Monday, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Perez was ousted from the 40-man roster last week, though it appears he'll stick with the Marlins and head back to Jacksonville after clearing waivers. The 26-year-old has been unimpressive at Double-A this season, slashing .131/.283/.162 through 29 games, so he likely won't be viewed as anything more than organizational depth.

Perez was designated for assignment by the Marlins on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The Marlins needed a spot on the 40-man roster for recent callup Mike Aviles, which left Perez as the odd-man out. The 26-year-old has gotten off to a horrific start to the season with Double-A Jacksonville (.131 batting average, 25.2 percent strikeout rate), so he'll likely be relegated to organizational depth after this move.

Perez was optioned to Triple-A New Orleans on Friday, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old swiped four bags for the Fish in 2016 but only put together three at-bats -- at least he knocked two hits, though. Perez will join the ranks of organizational depth who may piece together more major league work in 2017.

Perez was recalled from Double-A Jacksonville on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Although he hasn't played an inning in Triple-A, this will actually be Perez's third cup of coffee with the big league club. That being said, his role in the big leagues will likely just be coming off the bench as a pinch runner considering his top-notch speed and 39 stolen bases he amassed this season with the Suns.

Perez was optioned to Double-A Jacksonville on Monday, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Perez hasn't recorded an at-bat in the majors yet, however did steal one base. He'll head back to Double-A Jacksonville in order to make room for pitcher Jose Urena on the 25-man roster. At the Double-A level, Perez has slashed .262/.336/.312 over 321 at-bats in 2016.

Perez was recalled from Double-A Jacksonville on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The last time Perez was called up, it was as the 26th man on the day of a doubleheader back on July 3. He has yet to play at Triple-A, and simply boasts 80-grade speed, so he will likely be used as a pinch runner primarily while he is up with the big league club. Tomas Telis was optioned to Triple-A as a corresponding move.

Perez was added to the active roster as the 26th man for Sunday night's matchup against the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
A 26th player is typically reserved for when teams participate in a doubleheader, but with the Marlins taking on the Braves at the Fort Bragg military base Sunday night, the MLB Players Association will award each team an extra player. The 25-year-old will be that player for the Marlins, and if he works his way into the game, the switch-hitting outfielder would be in a position to make a highly unique MLB debut.
