Bloomquist (knee) is not yet close to being able to return, the Tacoma News Tribune's Bob Dutton reports. He is going to meet with team doctors soon, but his rehab from a knee bruise is going slow, so it could be a couple weeks at least before he returns to a utility role with the Mariners.

Willie Bloomquist was given a platelet-rich plasma injection his right knee on Friday. Bloomquist, who was placed on the DL Thursday, is still limping noticeably but says the injection has helped. "It's a bone bruise," Bloomquist said, "and it's painful. I got an injection, and they're hoping by next week it will feel better."

Willie Bloomquist will undergo an MRI on his right knee Thursday. Bloomquist hurt the knee while running to first base on Wednesday. He's already been placed on the disabled list, but a timetable for his return won't be known until the MRI results come back.

Mariners placed INF Willie Bloomquist on the 15-day disabled list with a right knee contusion. Bloomquist apparently suffered the injury during Wednesday's game. Chris Taylor has essentially taken his place on the active roster and could push Brad Miller for playing time at shortstop.

Willie Bloomquist went 3-for-5 with a steal, two runs scored, and an RBI double in a win over the Mets on Monday. Somebody out there will wake up tomorrow morning grinning ear-to-ear that Bloomquist was in his AL-only fantasy lineup tonight. Chances are, that isn't you. In truth, nobody could have seen a big night coming from the veteran utilityman. This was Bloomquist's first steal of the season, his first three-hit game of the year, and the double represented his first extra-base hit since June 22. Willie Bloomquist will now return to being Willie Bloomquist.

Willie Bloomquist went 2-for-3 with an RBI double in a win over the Royals on Sunday. Bloomquist finished the game with two doubles, but it was his RBI double in the fifth inning that pulled the Mariners even with the Royals. Bloomquist's playing time has been sporadic -- he's got just 10 starts this month -- but he's got five multi-hit games in that stretch. The infielder is batting .280/.299/.366 and is a non-factor in fantasy.

Willie Bloomquist went 2-for-3 with an RBI double as the Mariners topped the Tigers 4-0 on Sunday. Bloomquist's run-scoring double off Max Scherzer in the fifth inning increased the Mariners advantage to 2-0, which was more than enough support for Roenis Elias. In limited time this season, the veteran infielder is hitting .237/.246/.322 with eight RBI.

Willie Bloomquist hit his first homer since 2011 in Friday's win over the Astros. It was a two-run shot off spot starter Rudy Owens. Bloomquist had four homers for the Diamondbacks in 2011, but he was without one in 508 at-bats the last three seasons. He entered tonight with a .178/.196/.200 line in 45 at-bats this year.

Willie Bloomquist went 3-for-3 in Sunday's 9-8 victory over the Rangers in Cactus League play. All three of the veteran infielders hits were singles. He's slated to function in a utility role for the M's this season, and offers very little fantasy value outside of AL-only leagues.

Mariners signed INF/OF Willie Bloomquist to a two-year, $5.8 million contract. Bloomquist appeared in only 48 games in 2013 due to a lingering hand injury, but he'll be 100 percent for spring training and will serve as an active utilityman for Seattle. The 36-year-old is a .271/.320/.346 career hitter in the major leagues.
