Todd Helton returned to action on Thursday August 2.

Todd Helton (hip) is expected to be activated from the disabled list Friday. Helton had some soreness in his hip during a rehab assignment over the weekend, but his return to the Rockies will be pushed back only a few days. He won't be an everyday player upon activation, though.

Todd Helton is not expected to be activated Tuesday after reporting soreness with his nagging hip injury. Helton played a couple games with the Rockies' rookie-league Grand Junction club, and the hip didn't respond as hoped. His return date is now up in the air.

Helton is scheduled to play in games on Friday and Saturday and hopes to return as soon as he's eligible early next week. "I took swings today and everything felt good, so I don't anticipate there being any problems," said Helton. The 38-year-old is batting just .235/.332/.398 with seven homers, 34 RBI and a .730 OPS in 63 games played this season.

Todd Helton (hip) is scheduled to begin a minor league rehab assignment this weekend with the Rockies' rookie league affiliate in Grand Junction. Helton is currently working his way back from right hip inflammation. He hopes to return as soon as he's eligible next Wednesday.

Todd Helton is not in Thursday's lineup. We're assuming he's just getting a routine day off. Michael Cuddyer will make the start at first base while Dexter Fowler plays center field and Tyler Colvin starts in right.

Todd Helton went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a pair of walks in Sunday's win over the Dodgers. Coming off a May where he hit just .213/.312/.275, Helton has now reached base three times in each of his first two games of June. Helton should rebound to hold his value in NL-only leagues.

Todd Helton is not in Wednesday's lineup against the Padres. He's just getting the afternoon off. Jason Giambi will start at first base and bat fifth against right-hander Anthony Bass.

Todd Helton hit a pinch grand slam in Sunday's 6-5, 11-inning loss to the Mets. Getting the day off, Helton was called on to pinch hit with the bases loaded in the eighth inning of a 4-0 ballgame, and proceeded to yank a Tim Byrdak pitch to deep right field to tie the game and ultimately send it to extras. Helton's fourth home run of the season was his first grand slam, and leaves him with a .270/.352/.587 triple slash through Colorado's first 21 games.
