Atchison signed a minor league deal with the Twins on Saturday, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation reports. Atchison was released by the Indians at the end of June after clearing waivers. During that time in Cleveland, Atchison compiled a 6.86 ERA after 19.2 innings of work.

Atchison was released Sunday by the Indians, MLB.com reports. Atchison was designated for assignment earlier this week, and after he cleared waivers, it appears the veteran reliever has opted to pursue free agency rather than report to Triple-A Columbus. The right-hander posted a 6.86 ERA and 1.37 WHIP over 19.2 innings with the Tribe this season.

Atchison was designated for assignment by the Indians on Tuesday. Atchison has not been very effective of late, giving up at least one earned run in seven of his last 10 outings, so the Indians decided to remove him from the roster and replace him with Austin Adams. It remains to be seen if Atchison will accept his assignment or look for an opportunity elsewhere.

Atchison (ankle) was activated from the 15-day DL on Saturday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports. A left ankle sprain forced Atchison out of action late last month, but the 33-year-old will return to a middle-relief role the Indians' bullpen Saturday after missing just over the minimum 15 days required by his DL stint. C.C. Lee was optioned down to make room on the roster.

He will serve as a middle reliever for the Tribe upon his activation, but it has not yet been announced what the corresponding move will be. He had a 5.74 ERA in 15.2 innings with Cleveland before the injury, so there's not much to see here from a fantasy perspective.

Atchison (ankle) tossed a scoreless inning of relief in a rehab appearance at Double-A Akron on Wednesday and could be activated this weekend, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Atchison was roughed up in his last five appearances for Cleveland before landing on the DL, allowing five runs on eight hits (three homers), but was pretty effective in a relief role in 2014 (6-0, 2.75 ERA, two saves in 7- appearances).

Atchison (ankle) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment Wednesday at Double-A Akron, MLB.com's Jordan Bastian reports. Atchison was scheduled to throw a bullpen session Sunday before the Indians signed off on him beginning the rehab assignment. He was placed on the DL in late May with a sprained left ankle.

Atchison was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left ankle injury Thursday, Paul Hoynes of The Plain Dealer reports. Atchison hasn't made much of a case to see more work in high-leverage situations, having allowed four earned runs over his last 3.2 innings, bringing his ERA to 5.74 for the season. He'll be replaced on the 25-man roster by Austin Adams.

Atchison gave up three hits and three earned runs in less than an inning Tuesday against the Royals, earning a loss. Atchison had appeared in minor relief roles all season, not giving up a run in his first seven appearances. Since then, he's given up a combined five earned runs on five hits and a home run.

Atchison signed an extension with the Indians for the 2015 season that includes a club option for 2016, the Washington Post reports. The 38-year-old has been stellar this season, going 6-0 with a 2.95 ERA in 53 games. Atchison, who spent last season with the Mets, ranks among the league leaders among relievers in wins and inherited runners scored and has held hitters to just a .218 average this season.
