Davis is dealing with a hamstring injury and will need a day or two to return to the lineup, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
There is no timetable for Davis's return. The Athletics have an off-day on Monday, so if this injury is as minor as the club seems to think it is, he should have no problem returning by Tuesday's series opener against the Angels.

Davis is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Davis tallied four hits over his last two games, but he is just 1-for-11 in his career against Mariners starter Hisashi Iwakuma, so he will get a night off with Iwakuma on the mound Friday night. Jaff Decker will replace Davis both in center field and atop the order.

Davis went 2-for-5 with a double and two runs in Wednesday's 9-1 win over the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Davis' average still sits at .196, but Wednesday's production snapped an 0-for-9 stretch that had encompassed his last three games. It was the veteran outfielder's fourth multi-hit effort of the season and first since April 12. Extra-base hits have been relatively hard to come by for Davis, however, as he's managed just four doubles and one home run over his first 56 plate appearances.

Davis is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Rangers, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davis will take a seat for the second time in three days as recently promoted Jaff Decker takes over in center field after going 3-for-4 in his season debut. The speedster is just 8-for-44 (.182) on the year with one stolen base.

Davis went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and walk in Thursday's 3-1 loss to the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Davis prevented the ignominy of a shutout for the A's with a 386-foot blast to left in the ninth inning, his first round-tripper of the season. The veteran outfielder has a modest three-game hitting streak and has reached safely in five straight overall, raising his average from .095 to .216 over that stretch.

Davis went 2-for-4 with two RBI from a single and double in Wednesday's 8-3 win over the Royals. He also scored once.
EDGE Analysis
Davis was deployed out of the nine-hole once again and has started to pick it up at the plate after a slow start. The veteran outfielder has reached safely in four straight and is 5-for-13 with three doubles, three RBI, two walks, two runs and a stolen base over that span. Davis has yet to hit a home run after notching a career-high 12 with the Indians last season, but his recent offensive resurgence should eventually result in a move up in the order.

Davis will play center field and bat ninth against the Angels on Wednesday, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
After batting leadoff in the first two games, Davis will make way for Matt Joyce at the top of the order while he heads to the nine-hole. Davis was 2-for-10 to start the year and was caught stealing in his only attempt. As this will be the third straight right-handed pitcher the A's will face, it's unclear if manager Bob Melvin plans to use this lineup regularly moving forward, though that should become more explicit within the next few weeks.

Davis went 2-for-5 with a two-run triple and a run scored in Tuesday's 7-6 loss to the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
After an 0-for-5 performance in the opener, the veteran turned things around quickly. A member of the A's for the second time in his career now, Davis hit only two triples last year after socking 11 the season before; however, he also hit a dozen homers and stole 43 bases, which is pretty huge production. In fact, it was a career year of sorts for Davis at age 35, but fantasy owners thinking about turning his way for steals should keep his advanced age and poor batting average in mind.

Davis has gone 9-for-36 with four runs scored, one RBI, two walks, eight strikeouts and four stolen bases (four attempts) through 13 spring games.
EDGE Analysis
The numbers don't look great for Davis early on, but he has been heating up lately with hits in four consecutive games. Most importantly, the 36-year-old is still running well, and he has been leading off regularly for the A's. Davis led the American League and ranked fourth in all of baseball in stolen bases last season with 43 in 49 attempts.

Davis signed a one-year, $6 million contract with the Athletics on Tuesday, Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davis is coming off of a productive 2016 campaign in which he slashed .249/.306/.388, hit 12 home runs and tallied 43 stolen bases over 134 games with the Indians. He'll likely see a dip in his run production in 2017, though he still provides plenty of stolen base value and may see extensive playing time with the rebuilding Athletics.
