Blue Jays signed RHP Luis Ayala to a minor league contract. Ayala briefly returned to pitch in his native Mexico after opting out of his minor league deal with the Orioles, but he's now caught on with another organization. Luis Ayala will pitch in the Mexican League. Ayala opted out of his minor league contract with the Orioles on May 31 to return to his native Mexico. The 36-year-old righty is probably done as a major leaguer.

According to Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish, Luis Ayala has decided to opt out of his minor league contract with the Orioles. Ayala allowed three runs on 11 hits and two walks over 5 1/3 innings in Triple-A, which wasn't enough to convince the Orioles to call him up. He'll look for an opportunity elsewhere.

Luis Ayala (neck) has made five appearances in extended spring training games. Ayala has been on Triple-A Norfolk's disabled list all season due to neck stiffness. While it appears he's healthy now, the Orioles don't appear eager to call him up anytime soon.

Orioles signed RHP Luis Ayala to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Ayala didn't stay on the street long after being cut from the Nationals on Wednesday. His new contract includes more than one opt-out date. The 36-year-old right-hander owns a sparkling 2.58 ERA in 164 innings since the beginning of the 2011 season. His diminishing arsenal isn't likely to oblige with a number as shiny ever again, but Ayala has proven the naked eye wrong before.

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports that the Orioles have agreed to terms with free agent Luis Ayala. Ayala quickly found a new home after being cut from the Nationals on Wednesday. He might not have enough time in Orioles camp to secure an Opening Day bullpen job, but the 36-year-old should find his way to Baltimore eventually. The right-hander owns a sparkling 2.58 ERA in 164 innings since the beginning of the 2011 season.

Nationals released RHP Luis Ayala. Ayala signed a minor league contract in February. The veteran reliever, relying on an ever-diminishing arsenal, collected a spiffy 2.90 ERA for the Braves last season and boasts a 2.58 ERA across 157 appearances over the last three years. He'll have another chance if he wants it.
