Pirates signed RHP Kyle Waldrop to a minor league contract. Waldrop missed a large chunk of the 2012 season with an elbow strain. The 27-year-old right-hander is likely to open the 2013 campaign at Triple-A Indianapolis.

Twins sent RHP Kyle Waldrop outright to Triple-A Rochester. Waldrop appeared in just 17 games with the Twins this season due to an elbow strain, posting a 7/6 K/BB ratio over 21 1/3 innings. The 26-year-old right-hander was the No. 25 overall pick in the 2004 First-Year Player Draft.

Twins activated RHP Kyle Waldrop from the 15-day disabled list; optioned him to Triple-A Rochester. Waldrop, who began the year on the DL with a right elbow strain, didn't allow a run in four rehab appearances with High-A Fort Myers. The 26-year-old right-hander could find his way into the Twins' bullpen later this summer.

Kyle Waldrop (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Fort Myers Saturday. Waldrop began the season on the disabled list with a right elbow strain. The Twins haven't said how many rehab outings he'll need, but he should certainly be ready before the end of the month if he doesn't have any setbacks. He's not lock to be added to the major league roster, though.

Kyle Waldrop (elbow) threw his third bullpen session Friday and is scheduled to head to extended spring training on Saturday. Waldrop began the season on the disabled list with a right elbow strain. He estimates that he'll about three or four appearances before coming off the disabled list, though the Twins could decide keep him in the minor leagues for now.

Kyle Waldrop (elbow) had a successful bullpen session Monday, throwing fastballs and changeups. Waldrop will be able to start throwing sliders during Wednesday's session. He's been nursing a strained elbow since spring training but seems to be progressing nicely lately and could be ready by early May if he doesn't have any setbacks.

Kyle Waldrop (elbow) is scheduled to throw his fist bullpen session on Sunday. Waldrop played catch from 120 feet Thursday without feeling any lingering pain or discomfort in his right elbow. "Everything is moving in the right direction," he told reporters after the workout. "So we'll take it a day at a time, but it's going well so far." The right-hander should be ready by early May.
