Edgin opted out of his minor-league deal with Baltimore on Wednesday, Rich Dubroff of PressBoxonline.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Edgin will become a free agent and look for an opportunity with another organization after exercising his opt-out clause. Over 25 games with Triple-A Norfolk this season, he's hit just .161/.291/.253 with one home run and 14 RBI. In the event that Edgin finds a new home, it's unlikely he will make an impact in the majors this season.

The Orioles reassigned Edgin to their minor-league camp Sunday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the Orioles dismissing both Edgin and fellow southpaw Joely Rodriguez, Rule 5 pick Nestor Cortes appears to have made the club as a second left-hander out of the bullpen behind Richard Bleier. Don't be surprised if Edgin, who has held opposing lefties to a .221/.296/.367 line over his career, resurfaces in the big leagues with the Orioles or another club later this season as a depth reliever.

Edgin (personal) reported back to Orioles camp and is scheduled to pitch in Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the Twins, Rich Dubroff of PressBoxonline.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Edgin was away from the Orioles for the last few days after his wife gave birth to the couple's third child. The time away from the team shouldn't dramatically affect Edgin's case for an Opening Day spot in the Orioles' bullpen, though his standing as a non-roster invitee makes it more likely than not that he'll open the campaign in the minors.

Edgin (knee) received an invitation to attend Orioles spring training as a non-roster invitee, Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It had been expected that Edgin's knee would be in full health for spring training, and that appears to be the case. Edgin had a sound 3.65 ERA and 1.54 WHIP over 46 games (37 innings) as a member of the Mets last season. However, he struck out just 27 batters in that time and wouldn't be poised to see many high-leverage situations, should he earn a spot in Baltimore's bullpen.

Edgin (knee) agreed to a minor-league contract with the Orioles on Monday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Edgin spent most of the 2017 campaign with the Mets before being outrighted to Triple-A Las Vegas at the end of July. He compiled a respectable 3.65 ERA to go along with his 1.54 WHIP and 27:18 K:BB across 37 innings with the big club. While the 30-year-old hasn't been the same since undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2015, he figures to see work as a lefty specialist for the Orioles next season. Edgin underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in September but is expected to be healthy well before the start of spring training.

Edgin underwent arthroscopic knee surgery Tuesday, James Wagner of The New York Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
There were no reported issues following the procedure. Edgin is done for the year, but knee scopes are relatively minor surgeries, so Edgin should be healthy well ahead of spring training. He hasn't been the same since undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2015, but Edgin figures to find work as a lefty specialist.

Edgin will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Tuesday, Matt Ehalt of The Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
After being outrighted off the Mets' 40-man roster early in August, the veteran reliever cleared waivers and reported to Triple-A Las Vegas, with whom he made three appearances before being shut down with the knee injury. Although an official recovery timetable hasn't been established for Edgin, he'll likely be fully healthy in advance of spring training, though it's unclear if the soon-to-be free agent will have signed with a team by then. Edgin will probably have to settle for a minor-league contract this winter after submitting a 3.65 ERA and underwhelming 1.54 WHIP and 6.6 K/9 rate in 37 innings with the Mets in 2017.

Edgin cleared waivers Wednesday and was outrighted to Triple-A Las Vegas, Matt Ehalt of The Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
Edgin was designated for assignment Sunday, and it seems that no other team was allured by the reliever's 3.65 ERA in 37 big-league innings this season. Unless a trade happens before the end of August, Edgin will move into an organizational depth role.

Edgin was designated for assignment by the Mets on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The Mets needed to make room on the 40-man roster for recent acquisition A.J. Ramos and ultimately decided to designate Edgin for assignment. It was a bit of a surprising move, as Edgin held a respectable 3.65 ERA over 37 innings of relief this season. He'll more than likely be claimed by another big-league club.

Edgin got Bryce Harper to ground into a double play with the bases loaded in the ninth inning to notch his first save of the season in Friday's 7-5 win over the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
After Jeurys Familia ran into trouble to begin the ninth, Edgin came on to face the most dangerous left-handed hitter in the game and needed only three pitches to induce a comebacker and start a 1-2-3 double play, earning his second career save. Familia has looked shaky since returning from his suspension but even if he loses his grip on the closer role, Edgin isn't likely to feature prominently in the saves mix going forward.
