The Indians aren't likely to bring Giambi back if the veteran decides to play another season, MLB.com reports. Gimabi saw very limited action for the Tribe due to a knee injury but it remains to be seen if Giambi will try to find work elsewhere or call it a career.

Giambi (knee) will be activated from the DL on Monday, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. As rosters expand, Giambi will re-join the Indians after hitting the DL in June. His recovery from a knee issue took longer than expected, but he just completed a rehab assignment at Double-A Akron. In 15 games with the Indians this season, Giambi slashed just .128/.212/.277, and he'll likely be used only as a pinch hitter over the next month.

Giambi will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday with Double-A Akron. Giambi hasn't really produced with his limited sample size this season, batting just .128/.212/.277 over 15 games with Cleveland. He isn't expected to be activated until after the rosters expand, which is just a week away at this point. It's unclear whether Giambi will receive playing time at designated hitter when he returns, as Zach Walters has started producing from the spot recently.

Giambi (knee) could begin a rehab assignment as soon as Monday, MLB.com reports. Giambi's been limited to just 15 games and 57 at-bats this season due to injuries and is hitting just .128 so don't get too excited. He'll fill a bench role upon his return even with Nick Swisher out for the rest of the season.

Giambi (knee) is not expected to be activated from the 60-day DL until after rosters expand Sept. 1, MLB.com's Jordan Bastian reports. He obviously has very little fantasy value, and will likely only be used as a pinch hitter once he's activated.

Jason Giambi belted his first home run of the season in a losing effort against the Orioles on Friday. The veteran slugger connected on a three-run shot off Bud Norris in the fourth inning to put the Tribe on top 4-3, but unfortunately that wound up being the extent of their offense. He finished the night 1-for-2 plus a walk, raising his season slash to .125/.263/.313 through his first 16 at-bats.
