According to Mark Gonzalez of the Chicago Tribune, Donny Lucy has retired from baseball.
Lucy, a 2004 second-round pick, appeared in six games with the White Sox last season before being outrighted off the 40-man roster at the end of September. The 29-year-old backstop batted .250 with one home run and three RBI over 44 plate appearances in the majors.

White Sox sent C Donny Lucy outright to Triple-A Charlotte.
Lucy was cleared to make room for the new acquisitions in the Ozzie Guillen deal. The 29-year-old catcher had 10 at-bats with the White Sox down the stretch, but spent the majority of the year at the Triple-A level, batting .158/.233/.256 over 147 plate appearances. He simply isn't worth of a 40-man roster spot.
