Darin Mastroianni (ankle) is still expected to be sidelined for "awhile" with a stress reaction in his left ankle. Mastroianni will remain in a walking boot for at least another week, and will then have to go out on a minor league rehab assignment. He hasn't been doing any baseball activities while sidelined, so it's expected he'll need a fairly lengthy rehab assignment before he's ready to return. It's a tough break for the speedy outfielder, as he could've stolen the starting center fielder's job away from the struggling Aaron Hicks had he remained healthy.

Darin Mastroianni will be sidelined for three weeks with a stress reaction in his left ankle. Mastroianni initially hurt the ankle on March 25 and was finally placed on the disabled list Tuesday. He'll wear a walking boot for the next 10-14 days. Oswaldo Arcia was recalled to replace him on the roster.

Twins placed OF Darin Mastroianni on the 15-day disabled list with a left ankle injury. Mastroianni probably doesn't need two full weeks of down time, but with Wilkin Ramirez (back) and Josh Willingham (illness) on the shelf, the Twins had to call up an outfielder. Oswaldo Arcia replaced Mastroianni on the roster.

Darin Mastroianni was scratched from Tuesday's lineup with a left ankle injury. It's the same ankle that he injured earlier this month on a foul tip. He's considered day-to-day. Ryan Doumit has entered the lineup in Mastroianni's place as the DH, while Wilkin Ramirez is taking his spot in left field.

Darin Mastroianni (ankle) said he's progressing but will still likely need a few days before he's ready to start. The outfielder injured his left ankle on a foul tip on March 25 and re-injured it trying to get loose on Opening Day. He indicated he'd like to be ready for the Twins' next series against the Royals, but it's more likely the start will come the following series against the Mets. When the 27-year-old returns, it remains to be seen what role he will fill with rookie Aaron Hicks currently occupying center field.

Darin Mastroianni went 2-for-4 with a double, and swiped his sixth base of the spring in a losing effort against the Red Sox on Friday. Despite missing time with a hamstring problem, Mastroianni has done everything in his power to secure a place on the Twins Opening Day roster this spring, hitting .409 (9-for-22). Despite that, he seems to have been passed over by Aaron Hicks as the likely starter in center field. Even in a reserve role, Mastroianni does hold mixed league value with his keen ability to steal bases.

Darin Mastroianni went 2-for-3 with an RBI in his return to the lineup on Saturday. Mastroianni had been sidelined with a hamstring problem. He's been overtaken by Aaron Hicks as the likely starter in center field for the Twins, but he's still expected to have a roster spot and he could swipe 20 bases as a reserve.

Darin Mastroianni (hamstring) could return to the starting lineup Saturday. Mastroianni missed a week of action with a sore left hamstring, but he made it through pre-game workouts Friday with no issues. The 27-year-old entered camp as the favorite for the starting center fielder job, but Aaron Hicks has emerged as the favorite in recent days.

Darin Mastroianni (hamstring) went through the Twins' full workout before Thursday's game and has been cleared to return to action. Mastroianni missed a week of action with a sore left hamstring. Aaron Hicks has been on fire during that week, clearly separating himself from the rest of the pack in the competition to become the Twins' starting center fielder.

Darin Mastroianni's sore left hamstring is expected to keep him out of action until the middle or end of next week. Despite missing a few more games, the injury is not thought to be too serious. The 27-year-old stole 21 bases in 24 attempts last season, so he'll need the hamstring to be near full-strength to be as effective as he can be going forward. With the offseasoon trades of Denard Span and Ben Revere, Mastroianni is battling for a starting outfield spot this spring.
