Brown signed a minor league deal with the Rays on Monday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Brown also gets an invite to spring training after he played in three games for the Red Sox in 2014. He has an outside shot to make the Rays' roster this upcoming season, although the most likely case is that the 29-year-old ends up with Triple-A Durham.
