Brian Burres allowed four runs on seven hits and three home runs in 3 2/3 innings on Wednesday, taking a no-decision in Pittsburgh's 5-4 win over the Astros. Carlos Lee, Matt Downs and Clint Barmes were all able to take Burres deep in his second start of the season. If he gets a third, it will come on Tuesday against the Cardinals. He should remain out of sight, out of mind in NL-only leagues.

Brian Burres picked up a win in his 2011 debut by holding the Cubs to one run in 5 1/3 innings on Friday. The 30-year-old Burres is the prototypical No. 8 starter. The Pirates finally had reason to turn back to him today, and he gave them a nice outing, one that was better than many of his Triple-A efforts this season. He's now 18-25 with a 5.77 ERA in 55 starts and 47 relief appearances in his career.
