Guyer (wrist) is hitting on the field, but no date has been set for when he'll begin a minor-league rehab assignment, The Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Paul Hoynes of Cleveland.com reports Guyer is closing in on a rehab assignment, which would closely match the initial timeline for the outfielder's return. Guyer was hitting just .182 with 15 strikeouts through 55 plate appearances before landing on the DL. Recent reports from Hoynes suggested that the 31-year-old is not guaranteed an MLB gig once healthy.

Guyer is not a guaranteed a spot on the MLB club once he's recovered from a wrist injury suffered in mid-May, Paul Hoynes of Cleveland.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bradley Zimmer is emerging at a star, Daniel Robertson is out of options and Abraham Almonte (biceps) is scheduled to recover around the same time as Guyer. Considering all of this. the Tribe will have some decisions to make in due time, but the team has time to plan accordingly considering Almonte and Guyer are still weeks away from full health.

Guyer (wrist) is expected to miss four-to-six weeks due to his left wrist sprain, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Guyer's injury ended up being much more serious than the team initially expected, meaning that he'll now likely be shelved into mid-June. It's unclear when Guyer will begin any extensive rehab work, but more details on that should come along as he progresses over the next couple weeks. In the meantime, look for Daniel Robertson to fill a similar platoon role that Guyer did.

Guyer, who was placed on the 10-day disabled list earlier Sunday, was diagnosed with a left wrist sprain after undergoing an MRI, Chris Assenheimer of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
The severity of the sprain isn't yet known, so Guyer could be at risk of missing longer than the minimum 10 days. The Indians recalled Daniel Robertson to take Guyer's spot on the active roster.

Guyer landed on the 10-day disabled list Sunday due to a left wrist injury, MLB.com's Jordan Bastian reports.
EDGE Analysis
Guyer, who has typically been a mainstay in the lineup against left-handed pitching this season, was slashing just .182/.237/.291 over 60 plate appearances prior to being shut down with the injury. It's not clear how long Guyer will be out, but the Indians recalled Daniel Robertson from Triple-A Columbus to provide some extra depth in the outfield in the meantime. Robertson will enter the lineup Sunday against the Twins in place of regular right fielder Abraham Almonte with a lefty in Hector Santiago starting for the opposition.

Guyer went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI in Wednesday's 8-7 loss in Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
The platoon outfielder had plated just two runs through his first 49 at-bats of the year before Wednesday's affair. With the bases loaded in the top of the third inning, Guyer cleared the bags with a double -- his third of the month -- to deep right. Playing the heavy side of the platoon, and with the ability to cover all outfield spots, Guyer is a valuable asset in deep, daily formats. The 31-year-old's .189/.246/.302 slash line should move closer to his career marks of .258/.344/.397 as the sample size grows.

Guyer believes his swing is in a good place, but a lack of plate discipline is hurting his early-season numbers, Rock Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Indians traded for Guyer last season because of his ability to hit left-handers. In 2016, the outfielder dropped a .333 batting average alongside a 1.013 OPS in 123 at-bats versus southpaws. However, the 31-year-old has struggled against that group early in 2017, slashing .148/.179/.259 with five strikeouts through 27 at-bats (he had just 17 strikeouts against lefties last year). Guyer's not discouraged, though, and has an idea of how to rebound. "I'm getting there," he said. "It's a little slower process than it ever has been for me in the big leagues. The thing is I feel good at the plate. I feel like I'm swinging at bad pitches," Guyer added. "I'm getting in good counts for the most part. It's a weird game. You're going to be hot and cold and I'm cold right now. I know that will change. I'll keep putting the work in - brighter days are ahead."

Guyer will start in left field and bat third in the order Sunday against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Guyer will be a direct replacement in the lineup for Michael Brantley, who will be rewarded with a day off after homering and driving in two runs Saturday. It's likely that Guyer's excellent career mark against left-handed pitching will make him a mainstay in the Tribe lineup whenever a southpaw is starting for the opposition, and given his favorable spot in the No. 3 spot Sunday against White Sox hurler Derek Holland, Guyer could be a nice value play in DFS contests.

Guyer is batting third and playing left field Friday against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
With Michael Brantley getting the night off, Guyer will have the opportunity to assume a prominent position in the Indians lineup. The 31-year-old has a good history against left-handers like Detroit starter Daniel Norris, so he could be in line for a few extra RBI opportunities Friday night with the new (albeit temporary) spot in the lineup.

Guyer will bat sixth and man right field Wednesday against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Guyer has an excellent track record against lefties, so he'll enter the lineup with southpaw Derek Holland taking the hill for Chicago. This move will send Abraham Almonte to the bench for the evening.
