Ramirez is out of the lineup for the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Orioles, ESPN's Doug Padilla reports. Gordon Beckham will start at shortstop, allowing Ramirez to get some rest for the first time this season. If he stays healthy, Ramirez will likely rank among the league leaders in starts.

Ramirez went 3-for-4 with a stolen base in a 3-2 win against the Twins on Friday. It was only Ramirez's second steal of the season, as he's struggled in every facet of his offensive game in the season's first month-plus. He has only two homers, and his .250 average and .629 OPS are both career lows. Fantasy owners had raised expectations after Ramirez hit 15 homers and swiped 21 bags -- valuable numbers at shortstop -- last season, but his career track record has been one of wild year-to-year inconsistency. On the bright side, he's been generally better in May than he was in April, but it certainly hasn't been a drastic improvement.

Ramirez went 5-for-8 with two home runs, four RBI, and three runs scored in the White Sox's doubleheader against the Reds on Saturday. The home run in Game 1 was Ramirez's first home run of the season and the 100th of his career. Ramirez has been a notoriously slow starter throughout his career, and he is now hitting .300/.323/.533 in May after posting a .560 OPS in April.

Ramirez is not in the lineup Monday against the Orioles. Ramirez has yet to receive a day off to this point as he's struggled out of the gate to the tune of a .203/.246/.288 slash line, so it appears the club is just giving their shortstop a regular day of rest. Gordon Beckham will fill in at short in his stead, batting seventh.

Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a two-run single Saturday against the A's. His 17 RBI this spring leads both the Cactus and Grapefruit Leagues. Ramirez appears to be up to his usual tricks, even entering his age-34 season.

Ramirez is resting Sunday after tweaking his hamstring in Saturday's contest, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports. Ramirez has started 157 games at shortstop in 2014, but will sit for the regular season finale in favor of Leury Garcia. The minor ailment shouldn't have an effect on Ramirez's outlook heading into next season.

Ramirez is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals. Ramirez will sit out the final day of the season -- and for just the fifth time all year -- after starting the previous 15 games. Leury Garcia will draw the start at shortstop in Ramirez's place.

Ramirez went 3-for-5 with three singles, one RBI and a run scored in Friday's win over the Rays. Ramirez continues to swing a hot bat of late, as the veteran shortstop has now put up four multi-hit performances across his last seven games. Overall during this stretch, he is batting .355 (11-for-31) with one homer, five RBI and six runs scored.

Ramirez is out of the lineup Thursday against the A's, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports. Ramirez owns a healthy 6-for-19 career mark against Thursday's starter Scott Kazmir, but manager Robin Ventura has opted to rest 32-year-old shortstop for just the second time since the All-Star break. Marcus Semien will take over at short with Carlos Sanchez moving up to the two-hole in the batting order. Ramirez was hit by a pitch on his foot last weekend, so that may have played a role in Ventura's decision.

Ramirez (foot) is in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Indians. Ramirez left Friday's game after being struck by a pitch on the foot, but it appears he did not suffer anything more than a minor injury. As he has regularly done lately, Ramirez will bat second and play shortstop Saturday night.
