Ramirez left Tuesday's game with cramping in his left hamstring, the Union-Tribune's Dennis Lin reports.
EDGE Analysis
The team has not yet issued a statement regarding a timetable for his return, but this now leaves the Padres extremely thin in the infield, specifically in the middle infield, where Adam Rosales and Jose Pirela are the only healthy players on the active roster. Ramirez's status should be updated prior to Wednesday's game.

Ramirez left Tuesday's game against the Cubs with an apparent hamstring injury, the Union-Tribune's Dennis Lin reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Padres can't buy a break, as Adam Rosales and Jose Pirela would be the only healthy middle infielders left on the 25-man roster, and both players are better suited for a bench role. Rosales replaced Ramirez as a pinch-runner in the fifth inning Tuesday. Ramirez's status will be updated when the team releases more details regarding the injury.

Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBI and two runs against the Pirates on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
After starting his Padres career stone cold, Ramirez has turned it up lately, recording two-hit games in three of his last five. In that span, he's also walked three times without a strikeout and driven in four runs. Expectations are deservedly low for Ramirez after he departed the hitter-friendly South Side of Chicago for San Diego, but it's still nice to see him start getting the bat going a little.

Ramirez is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Ramirez has been a mainstay of the Padres lineup since the beginning of the season, but he only has a .200 batting average to show for it. He'll get a day off Wednesday, with Alexi Amarista sliding over to shortstop to fill in for him while Adam Rosales mans the hot corner.

Ramirez is hitting .316 (12-for-38) with a home run this spring.
EDGE Analysis
Ramirez will take over the starting shortstop job for the Padres after a disappointing final season with the White Sox (.642 OPS). He did hit .277/.325/.432 after the All-Star break, which along with his spring performance, give hope he can bounce back this season.

Ramirez agreed to a one-year deal with the Padres on Thursday, Jony Heyman of CBS Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
After the Padres reportedly showed interest in former Nationals shortstop Ian Desmond, the club opted to sign the veteran Ramirez on Thursday to shore up their middle infield defense. Ramirez doesn't offer the pop at the plate that Desmond does, but what he lacks in offensive production he makes up for with strong glovework. He fills a major need for the Padres, who had defensive struggles all over the diamond in 2015.

Ramirez's club option was declined Wednesday making the shortstop a free agent this offseason, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ramirez struggled in 2015, slashing .249/.285/.357 in 583 at-bats and both his home run and RBI totals took a significant dip from last season. Still, multiple teams looking for help at shortstop will likely pursue his services with the expectation that Ramirez will have a bounce back season.

Ramirez is out of the lineup Sunday against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
The White Sox have little to play for at this point in the season, so it makes sense for manager Robin Ventura to periodically rest some of his veterans down the stretch. He'll do exactly that with Ramirez, who has come through with a respectable second half for the White Sox. Still, his .285 on-base percentage on the season is quite unsightly, even if it's not necessarily reflected in his counting stats.

Ramirez is not in the lineup Monday.
EDGE Analysis
It will be a rare day off for Ramirez, who will sit for the first time since Wednesday. Tyler Saladino will get the nod at shortstop in his place.

Ramirez is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the A's, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tyler Saladino will draw another start at shortstop as Ramirez sits for the second time in four games. Ramirez is putting together his best month of the season (.327/.411/.490), but his overall numbers still leave a lot to be desired and it seems manager Robin Ventura is intent on giving Saladino more time over the final weeks.
