Callaspo has been in the starting lineup two of the past five games and appears to be Justin Turner's primary backup. That could change soon once the Dodgers deem Hector Olivera ready, but for now, Callaspo has some marginal value in very deep leagues.

Callaspo will be in uniform with the Dodgers on Wednesday, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports. This is not surprising, as it's just a matter of reporting to the home clubhouse in Los Angles for Callaspo as his former is in town for one more game. The switch-hitting Callaspo posted a .206/.293/.252 batting line in 37 games with Atlanta to open the season, but his ability to play several infield positions may be enough to keep him in a utility role with the Dodgers.

The Braves pulled Callaspo pulled from Tuesday's lineup after the infielder agreed to accept a trade to the Dodgers, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports. The Braves and Dodgers were negotiating a Callaspo-for-Juan Uribe swap earlier in the day and seemed to have struck an agreement, only for Callaspo to veto the deal due to a clause in his contract that allows him to block any trade prior to June 15. Callaspo was set to play third base and bat seventh for the Braves on Tuesday, but he evidently had a late change of heart and was likely motivated by the prospect of joining a National League contender. Callaspo and Uribe are the two principals in the trade, but a total of four minor-league players are also expected to exchange sides, per Rosenthal's report. With the Braves and Dodgers playing each other in Los Angeles on Tuesday, Callaspo will only have to walk a few yards to his new clubhouse.

Callaspo is in the Braves' lineup Tuesday against the Dodgers, starting at third base and batting seventh. The 32-year-old was a very late scratch from Monday's lineup, and manager Fredi Gonzalez openly admitted after the game that the team was trying to trade Callaspo and didn't want him to get hurt. According to various reports, the Braves had a deal in place to send Callaspo to the Dodgers for Juan Uribe, but apparently Callaspo vetoed the trade. Whether Atlanta works out a deal or not, it seems Callaspo's opportunity to play regularly with Atlanta may be nearing an end, as Chris Johnson (hand) is on the verge of returning.

The Braves are in the process of trying to trade Callaspo, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports. This explains why Callaspo was scratched from the lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers, although the Braves have yet to actually work out a trade. Wherever he may land, Callaspo is unlikely to be an everyday player.

Callaspo was scratched from Monday's starting lineup, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports. A reason for Callaspo's scratch has not yet been provided, but the timing suggests something may have happened during batting practice. Pedro Ciriaco is now set to man third base with Andrelton Simmons moving up to sixth in the order.

Callaspo is not in the lineup Sunday against the Brewers, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports. Callaspo has started four straight games at the hot corner, but will give way to Pedro Ciriaco on Sunday afternoon. Callaspo is hitting just .137 in May, but with the team shallow at the position, he should continue to see relatively consistent playing time for the foreseeable future.

Callaspo will likely start seeing more playing time at third base again with Phil Gosselin (thumb) sidelined, MLB.com's Mark Bowman reports. Gosselin started the last three games at third base, but with him out the next several weeks and Chris Johnson (hand) also on the disabled list, Callaspo figures to resume playing most days at the hot corner, with Pedro Ciriaco picking up the rest of the slack. Callaspo has had a rough month of May, going 4-for-34 (.118) without an extra-base hit.

Callaspo is out of the lineup for the third straight game Sunday against the Marlins, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports. Callaspo had been a steady presence at the hot corner in the early parts of the season, but after opening the year with a .571 OPS in his first 90 at-bats, he's beginning to lose playing time to Phil Gosselin, who will make his third straight start Sunday afternoon.

Callaspo is out of the lineup Friday against the Phillies, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports. Callaspo has hit a bit of a rough patch at the plate, going 0-for-11 over the last three games. He'll receive a day off Friday to clear his head, with Phil Gosselin starting at third base in his place and batting second.
