Loewen signed a minor league deal with the Rangers on Monday, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Loewen was DFA'd by the Diamondbacks back in August, and he'll now attempt to work his way back to the major leagues with the Rangers organization. The 32-year-old appeared in only eight MLB games last season, spending the bulk of the year at the Triple-A level, where he posted a 3.91 ERA across 46.0 innings.

Loewen was designated for assignment by the Diamondbacks on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Loewen pitched well outside of a couple blowups, but Sunday's five runs allowed over just 0.1 innings was enough for his run to end in the Diamondbacks' bullpen. If he clears waivers, Loewen could either end up in the minors or as a free agent.

Loewen's contract was selected from Triple-A Reno on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The Diamondbacks announced a series of moves Saturday, and both Loewen and fellow lefty Steve Hathaway will join the major league roster. In corresponding transactions, the team DFA'd Josh Collmenter and Mike Freeman, while Zac Curtis was optioned to Double-A. Loewen is yet to pitch in the majors this season, but he's amassed a 3.52 ERA across 38.1 innings at Triple-A.

Loewen pitched 0.1 innings Friday, giving up a hit and a walk in Triple-A Reno's 8-6 loss to El Paso.
EDGE Analysis
The former fourth overall pick in the 2002 draft is coming off a rocky spring training that saw him give up seven hits, a walk, and four earned runs in 2.2 innings. Loewen pitched 19.1 innings last year and compiled a 6.98 ERA which is not too far off from his career 5.55 ERA he's produced in 183.1 innings between Baltimore and Philadelphia in his major league career. Given the left-hander's poor major league track record, he will likely be relegated to the minors in 2016 but if a Diamondback bullpen member goes down with an injury, he could see a promotion.

Loewen was outrighted off the Phillies' 40-man roster Wednesday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Loewen finds himself off the 40-man roster after posting a 6.98 ERA and 1.91 WHIP in 19.1 innings this season --- by far his worst marks in his four-year career.

Loewen (1-0) got one out in the form of a fifth-inning strikeout to pick up the victory in a 4-3 win over the Mets on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The 31-year old was the beneficiary of an easy win Tuesday, as he happened to be on the mound to close out the fifth inning. Loewen has provided some uneven performances out of the Phillies bullpen, but has settled down some in September. The hard-throwing southpaw has lowered his still-inflated ERA during the month from 9.00 to 7.79, with scoreless appearances in six out of his last eight outings.

Phillies signed OF Adam Loewen to a minor league contract. Loewen converted from pitcher to outfielder and showed some promise last year in the Blue Jays' minor league system. He was the No. 4 overall pick in 2002.

Blue Jays signed OF Adam Loewen to a minor league contract. It's not yet clear whether the deal includes an invitation to spring training. Loewen, a pitcher-turned-outfielder, hit just .231/.333/.389 at two different minor league levels for the Mets in 2012. He'll probably wind up serving as organizational depth for the Blue Jays.

Andy Martino of the New York Daily News was told by a team source that there's a "99.9 percent" chance that Adam Loewen will soon be sent to minor league camp. In turn, Mike Baxter is now expected to make the Opening Day roster. Loewen is batting .268 (11-for-41) with a homer and six walks this spring, so he hasn't played all that badly, but he has also struck out 20 times.
