Michalek (concussion) is starting to close in on a return to the lineup, NHL.com's Lou Korac reports. Michalek has yet to make his debut with the Blues due to the concussion that predated his acquisition, but he's made positive progress in his recovery over the last several days. He resumed skating late last week and was on the ice again for Wednesday's optional practice. It seems a bit unlikely that he'll be cleared to play in time for Thursday's game against the Flyers, but he may have a realistic shot at playing Saturday versus the Wild.

Michalek (concussion) skated on his own after Friday's practice, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Michalek's Blues debut has been delayed by the head injury, but he seems to be progressing positively and might not be far away from playing again. He could resume practicing in full with the Blues in the next few days, which would likely be the last hurdle he needs to clear in the recovery process.

Michalek (concussion) exercised the last three days and was schedule to skate Monday before being traded, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports. Michalek was moved to the Blues in exchange for prospect Maxim Letunov and a conditional 2015 third-round draft pick. While he doesn't have a set timetable for return, his progress towards a return is encouraging and it seems plausible he could return at some point in the near future.

Michalek (concussion) was acquired by the Blues on Monday in exchange for a prospect and a future draft pick, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports. Michalek is facing an uncertain return date after sustaining a concussion in mid-February, but his acquisition by the Blues suggests the team feels confident he might not be out for too much longer. The Blues have been struggling a bit defensively since Kevin Shattenkirk underwent abdominal surgery, but Michalek's impending arrival should at least give the blue line an added shot-blocking presence. However, don't expect Michalek to come close to matching Shattenkirk's output in the scoring categories, as he managed just eight points in 53 games with the Coyotes before succumbing to the head injury.

Michalek (upper body) won't play Thursday against the Rangers Craig Morgan of FOX Sports Arizona reports. "He's still not feeling right," coach Dave Tippett said Wednesday. "We'll just wait and see where it goes." Per the report, it also seems unlikely that Michalek -- who has been the subject of trade rumors -- will suit up Saturday against the Bruins.

Coach Dave Tippett indicated that Michalek (upper body) is not on the road trip but could join the team later in the week. Michaek's status for the road trip was questionable coming in, but the latest news rules him out for Monday's game against the Devils and likely for Tuesday's tilt with the Islanders as well. If that is indeed the case, he could still rejoin the team Thursday in New York or Saturday in Boston.

Michalek (upper body) may not join on the team on its upcoming road trip, which starts Monday in New Jersey and lasts more than a week, reports Sarah McLellan of AZCentral.Michalek's uncertain status is hurting his trade stock as much as the Coyotes' ability to win games, which at this point may be more important to the franchise. The veteran is a known quantity to fantasy owners in leagues where blocked shots are an important commodity.

Michalek (lower body) remains day-to-day, but he will not play in Saturday's game against the Lightning, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.Michalek at least picked the right time for an injury, with Arizona in a forgiving part of the schedule that includes just two games in a stretch of seven days. Michalek can be considered questionable for Monday's game in New Jersey.

Michalek suffered a lower body injury and did not travel with the team for Monday's game against the Avalanche, Craig Morgan of FoxSports Airzona reports.Michalek skated for 17:53 worth of ice time in the team's last game Saturday against the Rangers, so the exact nature of when and where the injury occurred are not entirely clear. He's currently listed as day-to-day, and since the Coyotes have four days off after Monday's contest, it's possible he'll be able to return on Saturday against the Lightning.

Michalek scored his second goal of the season Saturday as the Coyotes were blown out by Ottawa. It was his only shot on net and he was minus-2 while adding a hit and blocked shot. Michalek may be winding up his time in the desert as the Coyotes continue to flounder and he is a pending free agent after the season. The veteran could draw interest on the trade market as he is still an excellent shot blocker and defensive presence.
