Josh Rimer of NSSradiotv.com is reporting in a tweet that neither Wade Redden nor Andrew Ference will be in the Boston Bruins' defense corps tonight. The Bruins visit Toronto with a 3-2 first-round series lead over the Leafs. Redden will not reveal what his injury is.

Boston defenseman Wade Redden, who won't say what his injury is, wasn't ruling himself out for tonight's playoff game against the Maple Leafs in Toronto. "It felt pretty good," Redden said after practicing with the Bruins Saturday. "I've been feeling better, so that's a positive. But it's a game-day decision." Redden was asked if it was a tough decision on whether to give it a go for Game 5 or it was obvious he should sit out, which he did. "It was pretty much an obvious thing," he said. "But like I said, it's turned the corner." Considering Redden was given a new lease on his NHL life this year after being banished to the AHL the previous two years by the New York Rangers, it's hard to imagine he'd take sitting out a playoff game lightly. He continues to stay positive, both with his situation and that of the team.

Wade Redden practiced with the Boston Bruins on Saturday, yet his status remains day-to-day, according to head coach Claude Julien. Redden's been valuable since being added to fold in Boston, though some might overrate that impact. In particular, many pundits point to Tyler Bozak's shorthanded goal as a moment Redden might have prevented. Either way, the Bruins would probably prefer to have the veteran in the lineup as they draw closer to their second attempt to close out the Toronto Maple Leafs.

As reported earlier, Wade Redden did not play in Friday night's 2-1 loss to Toronto. He has an undisclosed injury and should be considered day-to-day. Redden was a key player in the Bruins' first two games of the series against the Maple Leafs but has been relatively quiet since then. We would sit Redden down for the time being as it is questionable whether he will play in Game 6 Sunday night in Toronto.

Wade Redden won't play Friday night in Game 5 because of an undisclosed injury. Coach Claude Julien said Redden is day-to-day. The veteran defenseman played 16:59 in Game 4 Wednesday in Toronto and it's unclear when or how he got hurt.

Wade Redden notched a goal and an assist for Boston in Game 1's win over Toronto Wednesday night. The once forgotten defenseman logged 16:57 of ice time in the match. Redden was playing in his first playoff game since 2009, but thanks to the NHL lockout he got another chance to play in the NHL. In 29 regular-season contests, he produced seven points with St. Louis and Boston. Redden got the nod over guys like Dougie Hamilton for his experience and he put it to good use in Boston's playoff opener.
