DAILY PRIME - NOVEMBER 15, 2013: WE THREE KINGS & THE 2 BRIGHT STARS primepucks.com Fri 11/15/13 8:35 AM
Islander goalie Kevin Poulin was on the verge of taking a stranglehold on the No. 1 job on Long Island until three young and very talented Kings scored in the 3rd period. Poulin was holding a shutout of Los Angeles until the 3rd period when D Slava Voynov (23-years old) broke the ice and then 7 minutes later 21-year old LW Tanner Pearson scored his 12st NHL goal in his 1st NHL regular season game to knot the score. 21-year old C Tyler Toffoli scored the game-winner with just under a minute and a half left in the game. It was Toffoli's 7th point in 5 games this season. Grab him if you can as he is the real deal. With Jeff Carter out with an injury, Toffoli will be counted on for his offense.... Kings G Ben Scrivens was good enough for the win, stopping 23 of 25 SOG, as he started in place of injured Jonathan Quick. Quick will miss 4-6 weeks with a groin strain.... Poulin had the game in control until the 3rd, so you may see Evgeni Nabokov back in the crease against Detroit on Saturday.
Dallas Star LW Jamie Benn (G, 5A) had a 6-point night and Tyler Seguin (4G, A) had 5-points against Calgary last night as both exploded against the porous Flame goaltending. Christmas came early for those fantasy owners of these two stars as they just had their way all night long. For Seguin & Benn, that's 12 & 11 points, respectively, in the last 9 games. Don't expect nights like these too often, but it's nice to relish in the moment.....Stars G Kari Lehtonen started his 11th straight game and has gone 7-3-1 in that span. Ride him with confidence.
More Fantasy Game Notes: The Tampa Bay Lightning haven't skipped a beat since Superstar Steven Stamkos went down with a broken leg. After beating the Canadiens 2-1 in Montreal, the Bolts returned home to take on the Western Conference-leading Anaheim Ducks. If you were wondering who was going to step up for the injured Stamkos, you may not have to look any further than Valterri Filppula. Filppula had a 3--point night by scoring 2 goals and an assist. Now, don't expect him to score like Stamkos, but if this game is any indication, Filppula is up for the challenge. ...The Ducks were without their leader Ryan Getzlaf for a second straight game....The Great Dane Frederik Andersen was sent back to the AHL after Viktor Fasth was re0instated from the IR. Stash the Danish goaltender away if you are in deep keeper leagues as he showed his ability to play at the NHL level....St. Louis put a hurting on the Colorado goaltending by ...

SUNDAY MORNING COFFEE - 11/10/2013 primepucks.com Sun 11/10/13 11:41 AM
Coffee time!
This is probably your best opportunity to grab some Philadelphia Flyers on the cheap from some disgruntled owners. Perfect "buy-low" time on the entire team.
Giroux scored his first goal of the season. For Giroux owners, this could be the opening of the floodgates.
With the Oilers agreeing to a contract with ex-Flyer Goalie Ilya Bryzgalov, and the trading of Ladislav Smid, this is the start of the transformation in Edmonton. I mean how much longer can this team languish near the bottom of the standings every year.
The New York Rangers have shaken off the early season disaster and now sit 3rd in the Metropolitan Divison.
Taylor Hall returned from injury and should get back on track for a career year.
One day soon, maybe next season, The Ottawa Senators are going to have to give the reigns to G Robin Lehner. He's soooo good.
The Bruins are starting to heat up, especially Patrice Bergeron
Even with the new Head Coach in Florida, it's gonna take a while.
This Ben Bishop is having some year, isn't he?
I thought this season was going to be different for the NY Islanders.
I have always been high on Columbus C Ryan Johansen. One day, he will be a star.
What a game last night in St. Louis!
Good to see James Neal back in the lineup.
What has happened to Sergei Gonchar this year? He has literally disappeared from the score sheets.
Is it me, or does Phoenix seem to have a more balanced offense with more scoring than in past years?
This LA Kings team can get dangerous real quick. No pun intended.
There will be no letting up in Colorado this year.
Bottom 5 teams in the NHL? Edmonton, Buffalo, Florida, Philadelphia and Columbus. Which one doesn't belong?
Anaheim at the top of the standings. Kudos for Coach Boudreau!
Out of the top 10 scorers, Steen is a definite "sell-high" candidate.
Colonel Klinkhammer was held off the board again.
Did you see that Tyler Toffoli scored 2 goals and an assist against the Canucks on Saturday? That's a point in all 3 games so far this season. I'd grab him now if available.
Enjoy your week everyone!
Call up / Send down: The Kings have recalled Tyler Toffoli. dailyfaceoff.com Fri 11/1/13 2:56 PM
Toffoli was close to making the Kings out of pre-season, but was sent to Manchester (AHL). He has seven goals and five assists (12 points) in 10 games. He could see top-6 minutes with Jeff Carter on injured reserve.

Training Camp Notes: Veteran defenseman Ryan Whitney has found a home in Florida, signing with the Panthers for a one-year/ $900,000 contract. The new ownership continues to add complimentary pieces to improve the defense around starting goalie Tim Thomas.. As expected after the Cody Franson signing, the Toronto Maple Leafs have waived defenseman John-Michael Liles. Maybe a team in need of some help on the power-play will take a chance on him, but he has become a defensive liability these days.. A mild surprise in Tampa as hot-shot prospect Jonathan Drouin did not make the Lightning and will be returned to the juniors. Tremendous dynasty league upside, but there were preliminary plans to try him out with center Steven Stamkos .His time has not arrived yet, but the 18-year old has a bright future in the NHL..The Los Angeles Kings have opted to sent winger Tyler Toffoli to the minors. He impressively filled in for an injured Dustin Brown on the first line during training camp, but the team felt he was not ready yet.. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Kris Letang's lower-body injury might not be that serious. Considering his track history of getting banged up, Letang owners need to cross their fingers, as a fantasy player of his elite stature cannot be replaced. He can easily be the top fantasy defenseman in '13-14....The Washington Capitals traded C Mathieu Perreault to the Anaheim Ducks for a minor league player and a draft pick. Perreault should get a chance with the Ducks as they look for some secondary offense. Also in Perreault's favor is the familiarity with Anaheim Head Coach Bruce Boudreau, where he played in parts of 2+ seasons with Boudreau behind the Caps' bench. Keep in mind that he did have 2 straight seasons of over 100 points in the QMJHL....RW Jannik Hansen signed a 4-year extension with the Vancouver Canucks. Fans, and management, are patiently waiting for a breakout. Don't expect anything huge.

Toffoli is a great offensive talent who many believed was going to make the Kings roster. He will start the season in the AHL but will likely be the first player called up when the Kings need someone.

***IN THE SLOT*** OUR PRIMETIME PLAYERS OF THE NIGHT
PATRICK SHARP-C-CHICAGO
Sharp led the Chicago offense with two assists and 3 SOG, giving him four points (2G/2A) in the last three playoff games. Since 2009, only Sidney Crosby has more postseason goals (31) than Sharp, who has 30 and also leads this season with eight. The fact that he also contributed with six helpers makes him one of the elite fantasy scoring options in the 2013 playoffs. With Pittsburgh facing a stingy Boston team, Sharp could outscore the Pen superstars during the Conference Finals.
