Dermott (illness) won't play in Saturday's matchup versus the Senators, Kristen Shilton of TSN.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dermott will sit out for the first time since October after missing Friday's practice with a sickness. This won't impact fantasy gamers much because Dermott has just eight points over 38 games. Martin Marincin will bump into the lineup in Dermott's place.

Dermott is under the weather and missed Friday's practice session, James Mirtle of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dermott is currently bogged down in a nine-game pointless streak and is averaging a mere 15:35 of ice time on the year. At this point, the blueliner may be hard pressed to match the 17 points he put up last year, especially if he misses any significant time due to injury/illness. If the 22-year-old can't play against the Senators on Saturday, Martin Marincin could slot back into the lineup.

Dermott has one assist in his last 10 games.
EDGE Analysis
We like his upside, but it's remarkable that he hasn't managed to pick up even a few secondary assists playing with as many studs as he does. Right now, Dermott isn't even fantasy filler until he can take his game to the next level. Six points in 26 games just isn't enough.

Dermott scored a goal on two shots in Tuesday's 6-1 dismantling at the hands of the Flyers.
EDGE Analysis
Dermott's tally was the lone bright spot in an otherwise forgettable game for the Maple Leafs. The 22-year-old is averaging just 14:24 of ice time in 16 appearances this season. In those outings, the blueliner has recorded three goals, two assists and 25 shots to provide solid mid-range fantasy value.

Dermott scored his first goal of the season in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Flyers.
EDGE Analysis
It was his first point since his return from injury five games ago. Dermott's smooth skating and intelligence will make him a top-four guy some day. For now, he's a bottom-pairing defender and just fantasy filler for guys who are injured.

Dermott (shoulder) has received medical clearance and will be in the lineup against Washington on Tuesday, Terry Koshan of The Toronto Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dermott will need to be activated off non-roster injured reserve prior to puck drop, which likely means the team will place John Tavares (finger) on retroactive IR in order to stay roster compliant. In 64 appearances last year, Dermott notched four goals and 13 assists and may be hard pressed to reach the 20-point mark this year as well.

Dermott (shoulder) was designated for injured reserve Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Dermott is expected to miss the first 12-14 games of the season, so his placement on injured reserve shouldn't come as a surprise. In the blueliner's stead, Justin Holl and Timothy Liljegren both earned a spot on the 23-man roster, with one of them likely headed for the minors once Dermott is given the all-clear.

Dermott (shoulder) is slated to be sidelined for the first 12-14 games of the season according to coach Mike Babcock, David Alter of The Canadian Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
After undergoing shoulder surgery, Dermott was expected to be out of action for six months, but this updated timeline from Babcock could see the blueliner return in late October. Dermott's vacated spot on the blue line will be a hotly contested training camp battle, with Jordan Schmaltz, Ben Harpur and Justin Holl all in the mix. In 64 games last season, Dermott notched four goals and 13 helpers, both career highs, and he should be able to push for the 20-point mark despite his late start to the year.

Dermott will undergo shoulder surgery Friday and is expected to be sidelined for a minimum of six months.
EDGE Analysis
Dermott missed 14 games in March due to a shoulder injury, and he simply wasn't the same player after making his return to the lineup for the end of the regular season and Toronto's first-round matchup with Boston. The hope is that Friday's procedure will permanently correct the issue, but it will cost Dermott the first month of the 2019-20 campaign at a minimum.

Dermott (rest) was back at practice Monday ahead of Thursday's Game 1 clash with Boston, Paul Hendrick of the Maple Leafs' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dermott -- who was held out of the regular-season finale -- was back at it Monday alongside Jake Gardiner (rest) in the Leafs' third pairing. The 21-year-old set career highs in goals (four), assists (13) and shots (98) this season, despite averaging just 17:18 of ice time. The Ontario native should provide solid mid-range fantasy value in the postseason as a depth blue-line scoring option.
