Mitchell left Saturday's preseason game against Ottawa after being hit by a high stick, Renaud Lavoie of TVAsports reports.
EDGE Analysis
At this point it's unclear what the severity of the injury is but Montreal will likely provide details after the game. The 31-year-old center scored a career-high 11 goals during the 2015-16 campaign but given he's never eclipsed the 25-point mark in his nine years in the NHL, he offers little fantasy value entering the upcoming campaign.

Mitchell scored a goal in 16:04 of ice time in a 4-3 loss to the Panthers on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Mitchell now has goals in back-to-back games for the first time since Oct. 27 and 29. The 31-year-old now has a career-high in goals with 11. Unfortunately, playing on the fourth line does nothing for his fantasy value, unless you're in an extremely deep league.

Mitchell notched a goal, an assist and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 3-0 victory over Tampa Bay.
EDGE Analysis
It was a rare multi-point outing for Mitchell, as it is just his second of the season, with the first coming in his hot start to the year (eight points in 10 appearances). The 31-year-old has now tied his career-high 10 tallies and could set a new mark with four games remaining.

Mitchell scored the game-winning goal in Thursday night's 3-2 win over the Sabres.
EDGE Analysis
Goals don't come often off his stick, but Mitchell's had two in the last six games. Since Montreal has shaken up the roster with trade deadline deals and some injuries at forward, Mitchell has found himself with more ice time. In the past six games, the 31-year-old center who averages 12:01 of ice time per game, is averaging 14:42. This may not translate into a big surge in points, but a few extra shifts per game gives him the opportunity to produce.

Mitchell scored a goal in Monday night's 6-2 loss to the Sharks.
EDGE Analysis
Mitchell, who spent the first years of his NHL career in San Jose, scored his seventh goal of the season, the most he's had since his final year with the Sharks in 2011-12. He received a slight bump in playing time Monday after Jacob De La Rose (minus-4) was dropped to the fourth line. On most nights, Mitchell's getting fourth-line minutes and is a staple on the penalty-kill unit.

Mitchell skated as a winger on the fourth line in Saturday night's 4-1 win over Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
Mitchell had been centering the fourth line for much of the season, but slid over to wing to accommodate the arrival of top prospect Michael McCarron. As such, Mitchell took just one faceoff draw Saturday and as long as McCarron is on the fourth line, Mitchell will be getting fewer faceoff stats.

Mitchell (undisclosed) left practice Friday but ultimately returned to the ice and his apparent injury appears to be "nothing serious," Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mitchell leaving practice Friday appears to have been a false alarm since he was able to return shortly afterward. Barring a setback, we believe he'll be good to go Saturday evening against the Maple Leafs.

Mitchell left Friday's due to an (undisclosed) injury, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Canadiens will take to the ice for a game Saturday evening against the Maple Leafs. Once the team has a chance to evaluate Mitchell, an official update should follow. He's compiled 11 points in 36 games this season.

Mitchell's short-handed goal turned out to be game-winner in Wednesday night's 2-1 win over New Jersey. It was his sixth goal of the season and first while a man down.
EDGE Analysis
Mitchell typically toils away on the fourth line with some penalty-kill duty thrown in. The Canadiens' penalty-kill unit has been good in its primary goal, ranking fourth in penalty-kill percentage (84.8%), but they're also tied for the NHL lead with eight goals. Mitchell (one goal, two assists) and Paul Byron (three goals, two assists) have combined for four goals and four assists while a man down.

Mitchell returned to game action Tuesday night after missing 11 games with a lower-body injury. He skated 11:14, picking up a hit and a five-minute major for fighting in a 3-1 loss to San Jose.
EDGE Analysis
Mitchell's biggest contribution was stepping up in weight class to take on the Sharks Barclay Goodrow, who had laid out P.K. Subban with a questionable hit.
