DeAngelo was called up from AHL Tucson on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
DeAngelo is still looking to make his NHL debut, but may have to wait a little longer as it remains unclear whether he will slot into the lineup Tuesday against Colorado. In the minors this year, the blueliner has seven points in the first eight games of the season. It may be a little too soon to start picking up the youngster in all but the deepest of leagues given his lack of NHL experience.

DeAngelo, along with four others, were assigned by the Coyotes to AHL Tuscon on Saturday, Craig Morgan of AZSports reports.
EDGE Analysis
DeAngelo joins forwards Christian Fischer and Stefan Fournier, defenseman Dakota Mermis, and goalie Justin Peters as those heading to hockey minors as Arizona slims its roster in preparation for Opening Night. DeAngelo possesses playmaking skills as a defenseman, evidenced by his 43 points in 69 games for AHL Syracuse last season, and if he can show similar production during the 2016-17 campaign, it shouldn't be long before he finds himself in a Coyotes' uniform.

DeAngelo (lower body) scored a goal in Monday's 4-2 preseason victory over the Canucks.
EDGE Analysis
DeAngelo looked effective in his return from a lower body injury, but still ended the evening with a neutral plus-minus rating. He is a promising talent with a pedigree for scoring, but will need to improve on his defense if he wants to make an NHL roster for the first time in his young career.

DeAngelo (lower body) won't participate in Friday's preseason matchup with San Jose or Saturday's preseason game against the Ducks, Craig Morgan of AZ Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Coyotes initially thought DeAngelo may be ready to return to action in Friday's contest, but it appears the team has decided to hold the 20-year-old out of this weekend's games as a precautionary measure. The 2014 first-round pick is expected to return to the lineup in time for Monday's preseason game against Vancouver or Wednesday's preseason matchup with Calgary, indicating his lower-body ailment isn't believed to be overly serious. Either way, DeAngelo will want to return to the ice as soon as possible, as he isn't a lock for a spot on the Coyotes' Opening Night roster due to the team's substantial depth at defense.

DeAngelo is dealing with a lower body issue, Sarah McLellan of azcentral reports.
EDGE Analysis
While the injury forced DeAngelo from the ice during Thursday's practice, it's reported that the 20-year-old defenseman could be ready to play in the Coyotes' preseason games this weekend. The No. 19 overall pick in the 2014 draft is coming off a 43-point season (69 games) with AHL Syracuse and could an opportunity to break onto the NHL scene during 2016-17.

DeAngelo was traded to Arizona for a second-round pick in the 2016 NHL NHL Entry Draft
EDGE Analysis
DeAngelo had six goals and 43 points in 69 AHL games in 2015-16. That was good enough for first in scoring among defenders on his squad. He came to pro hockey with a reputation for being a bit of a hot head, but he has reined that in quite a bit. The Bolts were stuck with a logjam of bodies and contracts, and they didn't have a a lot of cap space to be able to keep them. Advantage Arizona. DeAngelo will be a sweet complement to a now-growing Yotes blue line.

DeAngelo was reassigned to Syracuse of the AHL on Sunday, reports the Tampa Bay Times.
EDGE Analysis
This was expected, as the slick-skating defender needs to log some heavy ice time in the minors to develop his game. His future is bright and he should certainly be rostered in deep keeper leagues.

DeAngelo has impressed Lightning staff with his growth over the last year and they say the defender "took big steps" to mature on the ice and control his temper, according to the Tampa Bay Times. The team now views him in the same talent class as Victor Hedman and Anton Stralman. He enters the team's development camp this week with a chance to show the team he's ready for the AHL.
"Hedman and Stralman are special players, the way they skate and move the puck and defend so well," said Stacy Roest, the Bolt's director of player development. "But Tony, moving the puck, he's right up there. He needs more experience, you can't rush it. But it's just a matter of time." DeAngelo had been suspended twice in his draft year for violating the OHL's harassment, abuse and diversity policy (for using a slur). But 2014-15 was different. He did have one game misconduct back in October for having words with a ref after the game, but he pretty much kept his cool after that. And that allowed him to grow his game dramatically. He racked up 25 goals and 64 assists in just 55 games split between Sarnia and Sault Ste. Marie, and there was a 25-game points streak in there, too. He also went from minus-34 in 2013-14 to plus-34 this past season. Don't be surprised if he gets a few cups of coffee with the Bolts this year.

DeAngelo registered three assists in Sault Ste. Marie's (OHL) 7-4 win over Guelph on Wednesday.
After sweeping Saginaw in round one to start the playoffs, DeAngelo helped the Greyhounds take the first game of round two. He has 10 assists in the five games and he has truly developed into one of the better defensive prospects in the game.

DeAngelo picked up three assists in Sault Ste. Marie's (OHL) 5-4 win over Sarnia on Friday.
DeAngelo has dominated since being dealt from Sarnia to Sault St. Marie earlier this season to the tune of 46 points in 22 games. There will always be questions regarding DeAngelo's antics off the ice and his ability to play in his own end, but right-handed shooting defensemen who have the ability to dominate offensively don't grow on trees. He's one of the better defensive prospects in the entire league.
