DeAngelo is dealing with an ankle sprain that will keep him out for 3-to-4 weeks.
EDGE Analysis
A highly touted prospect who initially broke through with OHL Sarnia, DeAngelo might have played his last game this season. The Rangers are on the verge of being mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, so he'd be lucky to have a couple games left on the regular-season docket by the time he's ready to go. DeAngelo crafted eight assists -- including six power-play helpers -- through 32 games, though he misfired 68 times. Still, even though DeAngelo struggled a bit in his second year, he's worth keeping in mind for future fantasy seasons.

DeAngelo left Monday's game against Carolina with an apparent lower-body injury, Colin Stephenson of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
In the second period, DeAngelo was competing for a puck to the left of the goal crease, but got his skate blade tripped up under Carolina's Elias Lindholm's stick, and slid feet first into the boards -- colliding at a very awkward angle, as he didn't have time to adjust for impact. DeAngelo had to be helped to the locker room, and is doubtful to return. His status should be updated by the team by Wednesday's showdown with Pittsburgh, and if he's unable to go, the Rangers might have to call up a defensemen from AHL Hartford.

DeAngelo picked up a power-play helper and five shots in Thursday's 3-1 loss to Montreal.
EDGE Analysis
He's flown under the radar with the banged-up Rangers dropping precipitously in the standings, but the 2014 first-rounder is showing some serious offensive chops from the blue line. DeAngelo's dished out three power-play assists in the past seven games while posting a trio of five-shot performances and another pair of three-shot games during that stretch. However, his minus-9 rating in that span suggests DeAngelo still has quite a ways to go on the defensive end, and things are unlikely to get any better in that category this season with New York selling some of the pieces around him ahead of Monday's upcoming trade deadline.

DeAngelo was recalled from AHL Hartford on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
DeAngelo will provide extra blue line depth with Kevin Shattenkirk (knee) still sidelined. If the 21-year-old DeAngelo does suit up during his call-up, it will likely be at the expense of Steve Kampfer - who has frequently served as a healthy scratch this season.

DeAngelo was reassigned to AHL Hartford on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
DeAngelo has made this big-club stint count, with two assists, eight hits and eight blocked shots while averaging 16:06 over four games. With the Rangers off until Feb. 1 due to the All-Star break, DeAngelo was sent to the minors to continue working on his game, and he'll likely be called back up afterwards as long as Kevin Shattenkirk (knee) stays on injured reserve.

DeAngelo dished out a power-play helper in a season-high 19:17 of ice time during Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Kings.
EDGE Analysis
Talent has never been the question for the mercurial 22-year-old, and he looks ready to contribute more consistently in his second stint with the parent club. Given how poorly Kevin Shattenkirk (knee) was playing before hitting the shelf, it's hard to imagine DeAngelo doing any worse. The offensive-minded blueliner has some serious scoring upside and is being used liberally with the extra man.

DeAngelo was recalled from AHL Hartford on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
DeAngelo has appeared in eight NHL games this season, with a lone assist representing his point total to go along with a minus-4 rating. Prolific puck-pusher Kevin Shattenkirk will be out indefinitely with a torn meniscus in his knee, which explains why DeAngelo received the call-up to the big stage.

DeAngelo was reassigned to AHL Hartford on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
DeAngelo had been getting ice time thanks to coach Alain Vigneault's decision to carry seven defensemen in his game-day lineup. It appears, however, that the Rangers will go back to fielding 12 forwards, which made the former first-round pick expendable.

DeAngelo recorded a power-play assist during Tuesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
This was the first point of the season for the talented youngster, and it's was also encouraging to see DeAngelo log 3:21 of power-play time in Tuesday's contest. The 21-year-old defenseman has oodles of upside, and he's a potential grab in deeper settings if he continues to be deployed primarily in offensive situations. Through five games, he's started 76.9 percent of his five-on-five shifts in the opposition's zone.

The Coyotes traded DeAngelo and the seventh overall pick in the 2017 Draft in exchange for Antti Raanta and Derek Stepan on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Arizona is picking up a starting-caliber netminder and a top-line center in this deal, while the Rangers are shedding Stepan's hefty cap hit while obtaining a high draft pick and a defender in DeAngelo who has the potential to develop into a top-pairing player. The 2014 first-round pick got his first taste of the NHL in 2016-17, notching 14 points (five goals, nine assists) in 39 contests. The 21-year-old New Jersey native will likely spend the entirety of the 2017-18 campaign with the Rangers, andhe could establish himself as a key cog on his new club's top power-play unit.
