Wingels (upper body) will once again sit out Monday, but coach Peter DeBoer indicates he could return Wednesday against the Avalanche, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
This certainly represents a good sign for Wingels, who coach DeBoer deemed "out for the near future" just Friday. The physical forward doesn't provide much on the offensive end (just 15 points in 56 games), but he's certainly willing to punish opposing players (165 hits). While Wednesday appears to be a potential target return date for him, expect the Sharks to update his status again as it approaches.

Coach Peter DeBoer indicated Friday that Wingels (upper body) is "definitely out for the near future," but noted that he doesn't believe the issue is long term, Curtis Pashelka of the San Jose Mercury News reports.
EDGE Analysis
DeBoer left plenty of leeway in terms of a timetable for him, but noted that Wingels will remain with the team for the remainder of the road trip. Pashelka reports that Melker Karlsson will move up to the third line, while Mike Brown will then slot in on the fourth line alongside Dainius Zubrus and Chris Tierney in corresponding moves. Expect more updates on Wingels when he closes in on a return, but his fantasy impact is bigger in leagues that use hits (165) as a category than in standard formats.

Coach Peter DeBoer indicated after Thursday's game that Wingels (shoulder) is "probably out for a little while," Curtis Pashelka of the San Jose Mercury News reports.
EDGE Analysis
DeBoer also noted that the team will know more about Wingels on Friday, so expect another update when that comes. The Sharks play again Friday, but the phrasing used by the coach seems to leave that off the table. If he does miss some time, the team will be without their lead enforcer (164 hits), and it wouldn't be surprising if they recall another big body to replace him.

Wingels exited Tuesday's game in the first period with an apparent shoulder injury and is questionable to return, the San Jose Mercury News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wingels reportedly attempted to check a Panthers player midway through the first period, but lost his footing and wound up crashing into the boards shoulder first. The team should update his status at some point in the near future, but the fact that he hasn't been officially ruled out for Thursday's contest could indicate the injury is relatively minor in nature.

Wingels put up a goal on one of two shots in Tuesday's loss to Anaheim.
EDGE Analysis
Wingels is starting to put up some offense that has been missing for too much of the season. Nonetheless, his game hasn't impressed and that's why his ice time has been dropping. After averaging 16:28 per game last season, he's at 14:17 this season and has been below 12:30 in three of the last four games.

Wingels scored his fourth of the season in Thursday's 3-1 win over Arizona.
EDGE Analysis
After going without a goal since Dec. 20, Wingels scored early in the first period to give the Sharks a 1-0 lead. After an impressive 36-point season last year, the Illinois native has struggled to find twine. As he continues to log bottom-six minutes, expect Wingels to continue putting up rare points.

Wingels had an assist, a minus-2 rating and two hits in Saturday's overtime win against Dallas.
EDGE Analysis
Always nice to see Wingels put up a point, but he's still disappointing offensively. He has just one goal since the start of December.

Wingels (upper body) skated in warmups and will play in Tuesday's matchup at Winnipeg, Curtis Pashelka of the San Jose Mercury News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wingels will play on the Sharks' third forward line alongside Joonas Donskoi and Logan Couture. The 27-year-old center has totaled 11 points through 40 games for San Jose this season.

Wingels sustained an upper-body injury Monday night against the Flames and is considered questionable for Tuesday's road contest versus the Jets, Curtis Pashelka of the San Jose Mercury News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wingels' injury stems from a collision with teammate Joonas Donskoi on Monday. If he proves unfit to play Tuesday, his next chance to suit up for a game would be Thursday, a home match against the Oilers. Ben Smith is on hand as an extra forward and could be rolled out against the Jets.

Wingels put up a pair of assists, a plus-2 rating, five penalty minutes, a hit and a single shot in just 10:35 of ice time during Saturday's 7-0 beating of Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
Wingels has struggled all season. These points come on the heels of a five-game slump. The goal before that slump itself snapped a nine-game slump. After being north of 35 points two seasons in a row, his current 23-point pace comes as a disappointment.
